New subscriber here. Have you ever made a video showing how you clean these bottles and what they look like all cleaned up?

  3. Tammy Askjem on May 26, 2023 at 7:30 am

The old Hollywood cowboy movies were pretty accurate about the consumption of massive amounts of whiskey… Not to mention the opium and heroin laced"folk remedies"… Very popular with the ladies… Helps stop "little Jimmy" from crying about the teething…. Zapped’em with a healthy dose of"Dr Feelgood’s miracle cure" for everything that ails you.☠️

I have a 3 seat outhouse and the only thing l toss down the hole is peat moss and wood shavings.
Love it when bottles come out unbroken.

  6. Cindy Ray on May 26, 2023 at 7:33 am

How do you find out what the old bottles are worth? Do you sell what you find?

  7. SOUTHERN SEARCHER on May 26, 2023 at 7:36 am

Sorry they smashed a lot of those bottles to make more room for feces. lol

  8. Betty Batson on May 26, 2023 at 7:36 am

It would be so awesome if you had a bottle Museum till about the bottle like you do as you’re pulling them out of the ground telling us I think it would be the coolest thing even some of them broken bottles that are way back from when you know I’d like to see some of the stuff that you have also glued back together some of them bowls and pictures

  9. Best Sellers on May 26, 2023 at 7:38 am

I love how you have the bottles identified practically as soon as your stick hits them! Did you study archaeology? You know so much, it seems that it is likely your chosen trade.

How EXCITING!!!!! If you come to the West side of North Dakota, could I come watch you dig?? There WAS a Rumor going around many years back of a family who had too many kids. As times went by and more babies born, they were taken to the Outhouse and disposed of

  11. Jason on May 26, 2023 at 7:38 am

How do you know the exact dig spot? Besides having the general location from pictures.

  12. Idaho 2nd Gens on May 26, 2023 at 7:39 am

That was a pretty darn exciting dig to watch! You got some real nice glass, especially the local druggist and the blood vitalizer bottle. Wow. Also wanted to comment on how good all the history you show with each town and each bottle. That makes it very interesting, learning history as you make the finds. Thanks a bunch Tom!!

  13. Tealtra Queen on May 26, 2023 at 7:39 am

Well the last few have had some treasures. Made up a bit from the ones that didn’t.

  14. Valerie Johnson on May 26, 2023 at 7:41 am

What do you do with all the bottles and finds? Do you have a museum room? I know you donate some back to the town’s museums.🍺😎🍺🌴

  19. Will Long on May 26, 2023 at 7:47 am

Thanks for another entertaining and informative episode Jake and Tom!

Uncovered at 21:00, was that unusual "partial figural" bottle a dark amber color? (Difficult to determine from the video images sometimes when they are still dirt-encrusted.)
Do you think it originally held an imported wine, brandy or etc. and the shape was to make it distinctive in its home market? Or, do you think it might have been a "back bar" bottle? Some of the latter type were very ornate, even cut crystal, but others were less ostentatious.

  20. Shepherd on May 26, 2023 at 7:48 am

Fun unusual finds, especially the Scotland, Dakota Territory bottle. It is interesting to imagine the area during that time period.

  21. Paula G on May 26, 2023 at 7:48 am

I loved looking in the woods at our farm site by Binford ND, When I was younger. found all kinds of mason jars and medicine bottles!

  22. Linda weldon on May 26, 2023 at 7:51 am

I wonder in all of the finds you have, have you ever run across any kind of honey jar? β€œFrom me to thee” was their logo. That was out of Sioux City as well and was precursor to Sioux Bee Honey and had originally started by my family.

  23. Kristi Davis on May 26, 2023 at 7:52 am

It seems a lot of these bottles where embossed which is nice.πŸ˜ƒ

  24. Michael Maciejewicz on May 26, 2023 at 7:52 am

Have you found any jars with coin horde in them

  25. Marvin Huff on May 26, 2023 at 7:53 am

  26. judy hobday on May 26, 2023 at 7:53 am

I was working on a "dude" ranch and the fellas took me and another girl, teens, when we took a lot of stuff to the local dump. Then watched as they shot up all the bottles and cans. Years later I remember that with the kind of regret knowing what treasures were being destroyed.

  27. Gerhard on May 26, 2023 at 7:53 am

Way to go Tom! I can’t believe how much effort you put in by yourself between the digs and videos!

  28. lousbits on May 26, 2023 at 7:54 am

I want you guys to build a Bullet Mustang just so I can see Sam drive it in his wicked black suit and a skinny tie. Well done to the whole team.

  31. judy hobday on May 26, 2023 at 7:56 am

I love your channel and all the information that you include. What do you do with all the broken bits? My son in law used to do bottle digs but is too busy with his job now. The place he dug was what had been a farming community that was taken over and a dam put in so all the old farms were bought out. He found some great things and even gifted me with a couple. I would have loved to go with him but lived too far away. My ex-husband was a scuba diver and instructor. He would take his class to outside of Port Townshend Washington. It had been a very old community built up at the beginning time that Seattle was new. The people would take their garbage out into the sound on a dock and tip it all in. My husband would find all kinds of wonderful stuff that was laying on the bottom. I even found some under some old buildings that were hanging over the water. Back, long ago. Doubt if that is allowed now, all grown up and touristy.

  32. Bud Boggess on May 26, 2023 at 7:56 am

Sorry I keep commenting…I just enjoy the channel…. would you maybe have a show where you show the clean up?….maybe it’s just dish soap and water…..the ones that have a blown out shoulder…could you cork them and fill with clear acrylic to save them?..just spit balling ideas….do you sell the stuff?…etc…

  33. Jerry Blum on May 26, 2023 at 7:58 am

Nice finds guys love that wine bottle!

  34. Bruce Ritchie on May 26, 2023 at 8:00 am

I think any bottle that has territory on it, is pretty dam cool. Thanks for bringing me along

  35. Shane Davenport on May 26, 2023 at 8:01 am

Tom, I appreciate and love how you give information on the bottles you find and especially dating the bottle. Knowing the history adds so much more to what you find. You are the most informative digger that I have came across. Thank you very much. New(ish) collectors like me need all the education we can get. Learning to date bottles has been my biggest challenge so far.

  36. Danny Bell on May 26, 2023 at 8:01 am

  48. Shane Davenport on May 26, 2023 at 8:21 am
