Crap. Now I have a new hobby to get way to invested in to to likely not turn out anything like in this video. How do you know the spot to dig at? I’m in AZ and there are tons of abandoned structures

Got a mid 1700s permission. I need to start probing. Never tried before. I’ve found some good shards ontop of the ground while detecting. Thinking it could be a goldmine

I really appreciate yall-sitting home worrying about the hurricane and recovering from a busted rib muscle is not so bad when I can watch treasure hunters aka Tom and Jake! BTW Tom the beard is a good look

Can’t go wrong when you are finding bits of history. Watkins bottle still cool with strong embossing. Good luck on the next location.

That sewing machine wheel was pretty cool. Definitely an old treadle machine with the groove in it for the leather belt. We have one that is late 1890’s.

I’m always looking up these little places on a map so I can get my bearings of where you’re digging.—I don’t get squeemish when you dig privies, so don’t know why this one was particularly disgusting to me.

  18. @cferguson3368 on December 22, 2023 at 8:46 am

    Very ornate sewing machine wheel!

    Tom and Jake,
Cool video!!! I think that going from city to city doing research on each city before going to area and probing for privys and trash pits is such a fantastic way of learning history. Now after digging, you have to learn about everything that was dug up. Too bad school couldn’t be taught that way, hands on. I bet you now know a lot more of North Dakota then beforehand? Enjoyed watching I just wish your videos were longer. Thanks for taking us along on your exploration. Take care.✌

Do you sell your plate shards or do you keep them or throw them away
