In Ohio i recommend going out close to athens down into the country side were nobody lives and theres some hills and stuff but most of them are way south down by West Virginia

I live in the relative area of this place. When I was younger i had found small flakes of what i assumed to be gold further north on that river but my parents always told me it wasn’t real. Now I know they had no idea what they were talking about

You were in the right area just not in the right spot it was behind you lol that bed rock although looks really good not much holds on it with the high water but other then that so many people go there and they go right for that bed rock walk right passed the gold lol nice video though 👍

Great vid! I love that you have prospected in New Hampshire and Maine. I live in Southern Maine and gold is almost non existent here. Just lots of misleading gold colored mica and garnets… but once you get to the north side of the mountains prospecting gets better.

I found a 9.2 gram nugget about 1 mile down stream of that spot.

What do you need to do to be able to do this? Permit or anything? I live in nh and have seen people doing this up and down that river and have a few other good ideas of spots I wanna try. Can I just go and start using a sluice in the river or what’s the process?

I’m thinking the mica gets tainted by the iron content in the water which is why you might have thought you found flour or flake gold?
