Only one metal detector allowed? We can’t overwhelm the producers…..

  2. @ronsimpson143 on December 9, 2023 at 8:25 am

I think the swamp was a drydock to repair ships. It explains the ship parts and the big stone road. It is a boat launch.

  3. @t-bone64brown19 on December 9, 2023 at 8:25 am

Had to be hundreds of supply ships or dozens , only one or two ships that carried treasure

  4. @lemondigz on December 9, 2023 at 8:26 am

All the people posting ignorant comments are just lazy.. the treasure is the history, the treasure is the little artifacts they uncover. Most treasure is often overlooked by not so intelligent people because it’s not shiny and gold. There is no better way to word it. You can be ignorant or you can stick a shovel in the ground and find all the things you knew nothing about.

  5. @RichieBagoDonuts on December 9, 2023 at 8:26 am

This show is bunk A waste of timeAll of these so called artifacts are planted

  6. @usmcmustang2972 on December 9, 2023 at 8:29 am

Watching oak island for very long, makes me realize two things …. Ancient men were FAR more intelligent than men today… Modern man relies 100% on machinery and technology, but 95% of them cannot use or repair ANY of it … This phenomena leads to the illusions of grandeur in modern brains and the loss of ability by present day searchers to realize reality of the ancient man … or to even recognize the use of many things they find …. or why they are there…

"It is clear that Ball got his money by being hard working and…yada yada…"

I thought you people were scientists. How is that "clear?" All you know is that he bought a tract of land, and then wound up buying 9 more. You don’t know where he got the $8.00 to buy the original tract, and you certainly have to guess how he got the money to buy 9 more while working one as a cabbage farmer.

He may have been al of those good things you suppose. But he also might have been a Pirate, or a Highway man. You have no CLUE how that man got his money, yet you state that it is perfectly clear to you how he got it…because…science.

Let’s try and follow the evidence, shall we?

  23. @jamesalsante2388 on December 9, 2023 at 8:44 am

Folks, it is extremely difficult to dig in this enviroment. None of those guys want to be #"7". Everything is flooded, so what ever they find is going to be extremely deep PLUS submerged totally in water. If you had it your way you’d rush in, and be killed and we’d be talking about your demise right now. Let men who know how handle it. Besides that, they are not only just "digging" they are preserving the the whole dig archealogically, which slows the forward progress tremendously. Having said that, this is the only way to learn scientifically how these feats were acomplished. The expected Historical significance of this project is huge. One would like to rush in. However, patience is what is required, not half cocked miss fires by greedy people with dollar signs rolling through there eyes.

  24. @juliannarmitage7060 on December 9, 2023 at 8:47 am

I love this show.. I read about the Island when I was in the 5th grade back in the 1950’s.

  31. @denniswood6203 on December 9, 2023 at 8:57 am

Still had to get it off the island to the main land which was probally done by a barge of small vessels in the dead of night most likely under a full moon so sailors could see there way probally docking into a private entrance someone who owned the property and could give privacy to a private situation.

I love the hunt, but Samuel Ball found whatever gold there was in the money pit. How do you think he went from a slave to one of the wealthiest land owners in the area?

  35. @kateoconnor6385 on December 9, 2023 at 9:00 am

Thanks for the adventure thru the years…love the science…love the hunt

  38. @jefflowe2377 on December 9, 2023 at 9:07 am

These guys can never follow up anything professionally. One subject to five more which are not talked about any more . Every week . No substantial finds that lead to any kind of reasonable conclusions . More 🐎 💩 every week .

  39. @dobraydien7242 on December 9, 2023 at 9:08 am

This show got stupid after the first episode. To see irs still going goes to show how many morons believe these con artists

  40. @gloria5596 on December 9, 2023 at 9:09 am

I have been watching this show since, since 2014 I have learned a lot about history that I didn’t like, there are so many things showing that I don’t think they ever realized how much treasure there is and now they are finding out all kinds of things that they didn’t know

  41. @ronosga4391 on December 9, 2023 at 9:09 am

Wooden ships needed yearly maintenance and a major haul out every 4-5 years. If you are a pirate you need a place to have your ship repaired, you can’t sail into New York harbor and not expect to be arrested and have your ship seized. So a remote ship yard that has oak trees and workers and has a slipway and flood tunnels to dry dock a ship would have been your only option. The original pit with layers of logs and packed with clay was dug, but no effort to hide it’s location? The rock with the inscription that was never properly transcribed and no longer exists. The gold and piece of parchment that came up on a drill in the early 1800s could easily have been a ploy to secure more funding from investors. They keep referring to this money pit, which has no solid evidence that it ever existed. All the finds they have made are items that you could find at any old town site. The only treasure that has been on that island was in the hull of a pirate ship. You certainly would not build a road to transport a treasure, that kind of effort would have been for commerce, like farming and ship repair. It’s a nice storyline but it is little more than that, a story.

  42. @juliannarmitage-gj6vz on December 9, 2023 at 9:11 am

I like Tom Nolan……and I am so happy he is part of the team. His dad really devoted his 50 years to researching the answers as to where the money pit was located. His work sure discovered wonderful findings such as the Nolan Cross………and concluding there is a sunken schooner in the swamp…

  43. @jansugalski4856 on December 9, 2023 at 9:15 am

Another hook. People love to be led by the nose.

  44. @scottchase8014 on December 9, 2023 at 9:16 am

  45. @winstonsmith8441 on December 9, 2023 at 9:17 am

The only reason people make holes in slates, that I am aware of, is for roofing tiles. A piece of slate is not going to hold an eyebolt…get real.

  46. @alanwiddowson9505 on December 9, 2023 at 9:19 am

What happened to the other 2 guys who were with Samuel Ball when they found the slab. Did they end up rich as well

I love this show! Gary is fantastic!!

  48. @t-bone64brown19 on December 9, 2023 at 9:21 am

How many slaves would it take to put all that rock down and unload the rock and stone , the ships had to get close and the slaves had to get out of the weather

  49. @joediffy on December 9, 2023 at 9:23 am

Well here we are years and years later and they have found nothing, LOL My wife called this from the very beginning, she said the only treasure in this whole thing will be the money it costs to make this show and excavate the site! I find it hilarious how they create this big build up every week over any little button or coin they find trying to make it seem like they are on the verge of a great discovery, only to let the audience down at the end!

  50. @juliannarmitage-gj6vz on December 9, 2023 at 9:24 am
