  3. @Burningplasma on January 15, 2024 at 8:08 am

But in Kentucky the finder cannot keep the treasure as it is government archeological find

  4. @oldsharkbythesea3962 on January 15, 2024 at 8:08 am

Like Samuel Ball’s find on Oak Island, only he had the sense to keep quiet about it!

  5. @RandomDudeOne on January 15, 2024 at 8:11 am

Whoever buried these coins probably met an untimely demise, or they wouldn’t have been buried all these years.

  6. @michaelvette7659 on January 15, 2024 at 8:12 am

Unreal. Really didn’t even need a metal detector. There they were, sitting. Seemingly uncovered by the rain. A dream come true

  7. @Calrad on January 15, 2024 at 8:13 am

Now the irs is after him!

  8. @johnrusselman1364 on January 15, 2024 at 8:13 am

They need to find out who buried this treasure only 1000.00 face value in 1863, now worth over 2 million dollars πŸ’΅. A priceless discovery that most be explained, someone didn’t survive the war…

  9. @mhsandifer on January 15, 2024 at 8:15 am

    How were they discovered?
    By accident, metal detector?

  10. @dougm2250 on January 15, 2024 at 8:18 am

Good for this guy! I would`ve dropped dead from a heart attack had this happen to me! LOL

  13. @deborahbaker4770 on January 15, 2024 at 8:21 am

    He sold it all

  14. @pharmerdavid1432 on January 15, 2024 at 8:22 am

I’m surprised the government isn’t confiscating the coins as "national treasures" like other countries have done.

  15. @miguelangelelbuho1211 on January 15, 2024 at 8:23 am

Now all those coins aren’t rare and dropped in value. Let’s just say I have some experience in this πŸ˜…I sporadically had one or 2 graded and sold at a premium. Never ever tell anyone when you find a treasure. Thats how I did itπŸ˜…

  16. @frankG335 on January 15, 2024 at 8:23 am

I’m surprised they didn’t have to find out what family lived on that land before, and have to give it to their descendants. That’s who is actually belongs to, yes?

  17. @tommycoyote3258 on January 15, 2024 at 8:26 am

Congratulations what a find. You are really blessed

  18. @reggiegarza1680 on January 15, 2024 at 8:26 am

Biggest treasure find of the 21st century

  19. @TheCarnivalguy on January 15, 2024 at 8:28 am

Just out of curiosity, I wonder if anyone owned the land ca 1863. Sounds like a wealthy landowner didn’t want the Union or the Confederacy to get their hands on that gold. Strange how circumstances change and no one came back for that stash.

  20. @Jreb1865 on January 15, 2024 at 8:28 am

Sorry, but I didn’t see anything in a 19 second video that resembled gold in that hole… Why was one not picked up for the camera? An ordinary person certainly would have. "All that glitters is not gold."

  21. @depalma13 on January 15, 2024 at 8:29 am

If these were found in Owens County , they are probably from The Southern Bank of Kentucky in Carrollton robbery of 1863. Over $100,000 of gold and silver coins were stolen in the heist.

  22. @TheJazzyRedTalkShow on January 15, 2024 at 8:32 am

    Congratulations

  23. @s-trader4686 on January 15, 2024 at 8:35 am

If you’re not a professional/expert, what do you when you find something like this? I’d think you risk damaging (e.g., scratching) the coins if you dig them out yourself. Who do you take them to for cleaning and appraisal that you could trust? How would you document it so that you know nothing is switched or taken?

  24. @JosephKimJoeyBigTime on January 15, 2024 at 8:37 am

does he get to keep it?? or does the state of Kentucky get a cut? or does the us govt also get a cut before taxes?

  25. @DerKirchenhocker on January 15, 2024 at 8:38 am

I’m heading to Kentucky to find me some gold!

  28. @iakazul on January 15, 2024 at 8:46 am

Ka-Ching!!!! Jackpot! Does the IRS get a cut?

  29. @mondayschild3493 on January 15, 2024 at 8:46 am

Will it devalue other peoples gold coins? As the more that have been found the less rare they become. Why are relatively modern gold coins in the US so valuable? i would of thought there would be millions about but obviously this is not the case.

  30. @NewWorldOrderFilms2030 on January 15, 2024 at 8:47 am

Now he can pay the feds taxes on it

  33. @yobabystillup on January 15, 2024 at 8:50 am

Yes, I agree. Keep it a secret. Haven’t you ever watched Rolling Thunder? It will make you want to keep your own secrets. William Devane gets the best revenue.

  34. @whatsthetruth7961 on January 15, 2024 at 8:52 am

Wonder if this is the only hoard buried on that property, maybe the old owner split their treasure in half just in case it was found… Better probe all around a half mile around that find!

  35. @MrDJROGERS on January 15, 2024 at 8:52 am

    AWESOME!!!

  36. @psychiatry-is-eugenics on January 15, 2024 at 8:52 am

  37. @steveniksid5874 on January 15, 2024 at 8:54 am

What was this guy doing in the dirt? Was he plowing a field or planting a tree. That’s what I would find interesting. How did he stumble upon these coins?

  38. @rohandosadventures on January 15, 2024 at 8:55 am

    Find of a lifetime! Congratulations!!!

  41. @timtong1066 on January 15, 2024 at 8:58 am

Kinda funny how he doesn’t pick a single one up and show that they are what he is saying they are. Could just be a bunch of pennies, dimes and a couple of quarters nicely stirred up in some dried up mud.

  42. @johnrusselman1364 on January 15, 2024 at 8:59 am

  44. @mastahpo on January 15, 2024 at 9:01 am

Were they all loose? Surely they would’ve been in some kind of container. Must’ve been done in a hurry!

  45. @LaserTrooperB on January 15, 2024 at 9:01 am

I’d kept quiet till Trump came back, Biden and them thousands of new IRS agents are on the way down to get THEIR that tax money off what YOU found. πŸ€£πŸ˜‚
