I was living in El Paso when F. Lee Bailey filed a lawsuit on the behalf of Ova Noss and obtained access to Victorio Peak. Of course no treasure was found. One story of the origin of the treasure involves a Catholic priest named LaRue. A younger son of minor French aristocracy, he became a priest not out of holiness but of family expectation. Sent to Mexico, he rebelled against the Church and led a band of followers north. They discovered gold and founded a successful settlement. Facing the wrath of the Church and the government, they hid their gold when an expedition was sent to bring them back.

The money served to finance the genocide in the Belgian congo, Leopold II was charlotte brother. Similar luck would have the Mexicans, all colonialisms work the same.

USA invaded Mexico and it was worse because of Santa Aana the traitor. The result, a little more than a half of its territory lost.

At 7:08 it is simply not TRUE that Emperor Maximilian’s reign lasted 10 years: it ONLY lasted from 1863 to 1867!

Here in Tucson the Arizona Historical Society has emperor Maximilians gold ring and gold stick pin, as well as Carlottas gold pocket watch. Not sure how they gold artifacts were acquired.

I listen to your show daily. Thank you

ever think maybe he didnt move all his money through just one route? Ive heard of people finding barrels filled with gold only to get it taken from the Mexican government. just food for thought.
