The location is generally believed to be in the Superstition Mountains, near Apache Junction, east of Phoenix, Arizona. There have been many stories about how to find the mine, and each year people search for the mine. Some have died on the search. This documentary explores one treasure hunter’s quest for the gold. Dick Holmes, born in the heart of Arizona’s Gold Rush era, embodies the spirit of the Wild West. From his youth fighting Apache warriors to his relentless pursuit of the Lost Dutchman’s Gold Mine, Holmes epitomizes grit and determination in the face of danger, greed, and the allure of hidden treasure.

THE MINE HE REALLY HAD HE BLEW IT SHUT WITH DYNAMITE ! HOW DO I KNOW ? THE DUTCHMAN HAD A REAL GOOD FRIEND WHO DIED 1 YEAR AFTER HIM AND HE TOLD HIS SON THE SECRET ? MY GRANDFATHER 🤣👊
If the Lost Dutchman mine is so productive, why are there no other gold mines in the area?
I live in AZ have lived here for over 40 years in the East valley. Majority of the time I lived in AZ has been in Apache Junction, where this tale is most popular. I recently moved to Prescott, AZ because all of the people fleeing states/cities like; CA, Seattle, WA and Oregon. These people are bringing there problems with them and are destroying our once peaceful and beautiful state. With that said, this tale is nothing, but a tale to generate tourism and money—PERIOD! By all means though go and try to find it, it’s a HUGE find, especially if you’re from CA!
McKenna’s Gold?
Don’t waste your time it’s one commercial after another plus their added commercials you suck
The flying Dutchman and dick 😂
Why the honorable man didn’t wait for julia the lady? You going to visit someone else house and take whatever?
Didn’t say goodbye???
He did what a thief would do. The behavior is clear.
Theres mo gold 🥇🪙🥇 is just a legend.
Being a native of Phoenix, I grew up hearing all of the tales of the Lost Dutchman’s mine. There have been so many people who have either died or mysteriously gone missing while looking for it that it is a true legend, a mystery, a ghost story, that even just camping in the Superstitions gives one an eerie feeling. The mountains do not look that big, but I’ve hiked them, and you can easily become hopelessly lost if you do not give the mountains their respect.
The mine is on flat land which was mined with equipment. The vein shaft is covered by a block house, and it is private property.
An old man trolling everyone on his deathbed
There’s gold in them their hills
Don’t waste your time it’s one commercial after another plus their added commercials you suck
So basically a white man killed some Mexican people to get rich off the mine the Mexicans had found 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I’ll tell you this, where the mine is located in the superstition mountains is no pleasant walk, getting there the first time out of the starting point is no easy task. Once there you can look back and see the true path to follow. When you are within a mile of the mine you will see its location, no mistake about it. I have been there, its for real. I am willing to disclose the location, take you there and solve the secret of gold, it may be the dutchmans gold, it might be peralta gold, it may be both,,,but it’s there. All i want is 10 pounds of gold in exchange for my services and information. If your truely interested lemeno,,,😮😊
Love those stories about gold and the scary impact of gold fever …
Greediness, Greedy, Greed.
the feds fixed the problem by decarring the entire area as federal lands thereby making it a federal government claim.
no wealth is worth health
Where the Hell does the narrator get "the VIOLENT old prospector’ Crappy narration for sure!!

Judging from the title, it was the Dutchman that was lost – not the gold.
Evil abraham lincoln
I’m out too many commercials
https://www.youtube.com/@TheApacheTreasure … during the 18’60s when the last wars were going on the Dutchman was in the Hub Town in Arizona Territory (now New Mexico) and just outside of Town going down to now Texas is where it is .. The Apache Treasure covers that Mine … That happened in the 1860’s-1870’s ….
Some stories are like a dog chasing his tail, I believe that this is one of those stories. Sometimes, dreams are started not to be found.
Dick Holmes, instead of enlisting Browny, he should have got Sherlock
Remember from my Grandfather when I was very young…a story he told me about an Arizona prospector…a German named Gus Schade! We lived back East but my Grandfather, who was also from the Old Country, corresponded with the Prospector from time to time.
My Grandfather personally knew this man before he moved West.
I found some strange looking "rocks" on my Grandfather’s back porch one day. When I asked him what they were…he said that Gus Schade had sent them to him…that they may be "gold"! As a kid, they didn’t look like what I would have thought gold looked like…even though I had never seen anything like them. They had a rust/reddish color.
Some time later, my Grandfather received alot of wooded boxes (very heavy) and he stored them away.
My Grandfather received information (from Who?) that Gus Schade had committed suicide. Every thing he owned had been sent to my Grandfather…Schade had no family.
After a while, my Father and Grandfather open the stored wooded boxes…they were filled with some of the most sofisticated tools that I had ever seen. There were other items also which included a beautiful, small .22 caliber rifle. I, later, used it to go hunting.
I don’t know anything else about Gus Schade, his life, or where his remains were buried!
My Grandfather would have told me all of this, but I was too young to be interested to inquire.
So the lesson is don’t be a dick
Word was he sent a huge amount of money to his sister in Germany.
So in 1865 if you want to go float down the Salt River you were more likely to be killed.. dang.. just cuz you wanted to river raft…
My advice as an old man is this, first Know JESUS CHRIST know you obey HIS Commandments, seek Apache tribesman as your guide for that Land is HOLY Apache burial grounds, before you go first,FAST n PRAY but also offer the Apache guides 60% for it is better to give then recieve, now peoceed and discover The Lost Dutchmans Mine!
I lived in butte Montana which was a massive gold streak.
I was told by people that live in Butte long term that they could pan the dirt in the yard and find gold.
Gold does not stay in a underground streak. There would be gold around the area on the surface.
Why didn’t Tom Kollenborn get credit in this video? Everyone else got their name and a title flashed on the screen when they were interviewed. Mr. Kollenborn was a remarkable and honorable man.
Much of this story is pure fabrication… as of time 11:55 the woman "finds" her way out of debt… but it was said everyone knows everyone’s business… so did the Dutchman trade ore for
CASH and give her the money? Did he normal do that or did he just "trade" in ore? If he sold some or to a banker or towns person who had money, that person who normally wouldn’t have rich ore would have had to cash it in at some point… OR, If the Dutchman had given her Gold Ore, she would have had to pay her debts with it and EVERYONE would have heard about it since she wasn’t a miner… so with only 3 military trails to follow, finding the grave, but nothing else… how far did he drag the dead man with the chain… LOL… sure…
Cool story bro! 😂
hell hath moo fury like a woman scorned

Here in Kentucky a Rock House is a natural formation that most people would call a cliff.
Insane.
Why not just look for your own gold for 70 yrs 😮
Drones and lazers will find it
I grew up in the shadow of the Superstitions… I have seen more than I can count, guys that got eaten alive by this "Lost" gold.. Guys started with a lot of capitol and zero returns… over and over…… Few can imagine just how rough this country is.. Running around here as a kid? yea, great parents….

How the LORD saved me was in this manner,i was unarmed but had my gear to survive, after entering the superstitious mountains a tall white man dressed in country attire was following me with a long nosed 357 hand gun in his hand as i was walking out i passed right by him approximately ten feet to my left on my way out and it was though i was invisible to him he didn’t see me. Thank YOU LORD JESUS CHRIST!
I looked 4 it,i was there but my life was in danger i was being followwd by an armed white cowboy and the LORD saved me n i made it back to Phoenix safely
