Treasure Cache Cash Found in Nevada
Treasure Cache Cash Found in Nevada
While on a metal detecting trip to Nevada, I find a Cache of Chinese coins dating from 1600’s – 1800’s of the Ch’ing Dynasty. The Chinese were hired to mine the gold fields and build railroad lines so more people and supplies could be brought in. They usually lived outside of the main camps and used their own money. Most Chinese coins are not real valuable, but the history behind the people who lost them and the sites they are found is enjoyable to experience.
What area was that find found?
They could have been lost there or somebody could have died on that spot with them in his pocket or been buried there, and he had to put it in his mouth :(.
Nice score Gerry. Thanks for showing us.
Cool find…I got a spot where we found over 500 of those Chinese coins. Still a ton left we got tired of digging them

Hi,
Those coins are from the Qing dynasty but the two large ones are from Emperor Kang Hsi 1662AD -1722AD, which are the oldest out of the bunch. Cheers, CP
