Treasure Hunting West Virginia Creek Fossils Toy Marbles Street Pavers

Limited time today….had a lot to do…..had only 45 minutes to walk a small creek. These are the finds. Street Pavers, Toy 1 inch Shooter Marble (I would say it was made by Marble King in either Paden City Wv or St Mary’s Wv.). And some sort of fossil……not sure what it is. Any idea;s…..post in comments.

Look up cephalopods, it’s badly weathered but I think that’s what you have,

Rocks, I think the object you’re calling a tooth may actually be a belemite shell which housed a squid like creature not sure but with Ohio being under water in prehistoric times it could be.

Hey boss, you should go to Stevenjasinski.com Really cool British man who is a paleontologist. He was very quick in responding to an email I sent him about identifying some fossils I found. He’s currently the Curator of Paleontology at the PA State museum He would know exactly what you have there. Love those bricks you found, my grandfathers first job was digging clay out of the ground and cooking them into bricks. Used them to build many houses in my area.

For a 45 minuet hunt that was awesome! That fossil is really interesting looking. Unfortunately I have never found or seen one. Take care and thanks for the hunt! H.H.

These things I thought were teeth are probably fossilized "shark coprolite"……some fossil hunters alerted me to this in the community section of my page on the photo of these. I then typed "shark coprolite" into bing and the 1st few images sure look like these. SO THIS IS ANCIENT FOSSILIZED SHARK POOP…………..

Guess your feet aren’t too bad. I can’t get out as much as you……..I end up having to stockpile videos. I will never be able to more than one a week and not sure I will be able to keep that pace forever. Good luck out there……….glad you could get out because then I get to go along.

That’s just exactly what I was going to suggest–coprolite. It’s very interesting to collect. Great shooter and beautiful old pavers! I do love your paths and walkways made of those! A nice day’s hunt! Now that she has her hair cut, poor Sadie won’t have to get a bath when she has to poop!

I think it’s some type of see creature. We(Ohio) were under water I believe in ancient times.

Keep us posted on the block object (fossil tooth) when you find out. Looks like something, but not sure what it may be. Always a learning experience. Thanks for sharing.

  26. 4bs on May 17, 2023 at 8:34 am

Those fossils may be trilobite or as pointed to earlier, coprolite. Good vid. Thanks.
