Florida is NOT paradise! It is a living hell! Make the smart move, like I did in 2022: GET OUT OF FLORIDA!
Treasure sandbar.
Forget the 24-25 Tourist Season….its done…..maybe next year.
I experienced one hurricane in my life on the island. The speed at which the community bounced back was amazing. It will do it again.
It won’t take long. Generates billions, happy memories for millions… God Bless…
One of the most beautiful areas I visited! I hope the cleanup goes quick!

I’m a service worker that’s worked on this beach many years and loved it. But it’s over you don’t want to pay me enough to have a roof over my head goodbye 1%. you clean your own toilets you clean your own crap. Cook your own food, pour your own drinks. Cuz you can’t pay anyone enough money to live here anymore.
when can i go to the beach?

When your community revolves around sucking up to outsiders, you have no community. Nothing should be out there on those barrier Islands.
5 hurricanes in 2 years is devastating! Milton goes from a tropical storm to a 185mph cat 5 in 30 hours. And the severe damage is from Naples to the Big Bend and many inland communities. My home never had flooding to speak of till Idalia put 2 feet in the foyer and a bedroom and i spent two months fixing everything myself. Helene trashed the house with 4.5 feet of putrid water throughout the house! I’m done. No way I’m fixing the house this time as it will just happen again and again. What’s needed is a fortress home built 12 feet up in the air and I’m too tired for that at this point! I’m a lifelong resident of Florida and it’s obvious to me that things have changed and it is going to have a dramatic affect on how we inhabit this state especially on the West Coast!

Nature designed the barrier island, complemented by mangroves, to halt storm surges from encroaching on the mainland. Yet, our ignorance and greed for waterfront living inevitably lead to the displacement of homeowners and businesses. Indigenous peoples have inhabited these lands—known as America—without establishing permanent settlements at or near the water. This reality is glaringly apparent.
Who’s paying for this?
