The Holy grail of shipwrecks, its The Portuguese "flor do mar" (flower of The sea", Who sunked in 1511,in The Malaca straight trough a storm, with The King of Siam’s treasure, as a "gift" to The Portuguese King. Something like 65 tons of gold bullion, And another 2 tons of chests, containing Diamonds, Rubys, Emeralds, safires, everything that today, are very, very, precious gems.
Its remains on The botton of The straight in shallow watters.
Thats The "beauty" of this shipwreck.
With The technolagy that We have today, And still, not found nothing there, has driven some People "crazy" , (And still are, like that American billionaire, that 20 years ago, spent abaut 40 million dollars, trying to find The treasure) when were dozens of salvage teams Who try to get to The shipwreck, but in vain. Wich its even more frustraiting, because The area were The ship sunked, its narrow And shallow, And its one of The busiest shiplanes in The world ( but until today full of pirates. ItsTrue. The Malaca straight, always was And still is a pirate paradise)
In my opinion, The wreck And that Massive treasure, had already, made some People very rich.
The Legendary King of Siam Treasure. For an History buff, like me, only The name, give goosebumps. I remember being a young boy, And read those adventure books, from The old Navigators, And their stories and foundings. And in almost of those books, they mentioned The Kingdom Of Siam, as a huge rich countrie full of wealth, far, far in The East waiting to be discover. And it was, And by The Great Admiral And Vice-Roy of Índia at The time, Afonso D’e Albuquerque, as The ottomans And Índia moguls, called him "The Lion of The seas". He was a Very Brave, Corage but ruthless man. When he arrive at India And started conquering New territories to East, further in Asia, he become a Legend. But a very feared Man among those in his path. Like The King of Siam.
That’s The reason for The" gift" to the Portuguese king. The Kingdom’s Treasure.
Where history factos like this one, among others, that made Indiana Jones, a Worldwide household.
Find something like that, its The dream of all, not only treasure hunters, but history buffs like me.
It seems a child’s thing, but how many times i felt asleep, with my mind, on The Kingdom of Siam Treasure, waiting for me, to find him.
People Who are in history treasures, know well what iam talking abaut.

The sad part to all of this is that you can’t really believe the report considering it comes from CBS which is proving themselves to be just as unreliable as CNN witch continues to go out of their way to propagate fake news

  6. SerpentStar on March 5, 2023 at 12:58 pm

I read that ANY treasure found anywhere “belongs” to the government and by law you must report and give it all to them. How dumb can you be to go along with this?

  7. Jonathan Blasczak on March 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm

How many times are they going to find the ship I’m not doing anything about it the ship was first located over 50 years ago and there it sits still and by the way it sank in 1708 not 1701! Great research

  8. Josh on March 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm

Imagine finding 17 billion dollars worth of treasure on your own, then being happy earning nothing from it. I can’t tell if I should feel inspired or appalled 😂

  9. Alan luscombe8a on March 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm

Sucks that greedy people will make those who find this stuff not share and we will never see the amazing history

Since it’s off the coast of Colombia, the Colombian government will claim the rights to the ship since its in its waters.

  14. No name on March 5, 2023 at 1:07 pm

I just love how things work Colombia or Spain should have no rights over anything found in the water they weren’t looking for. Just the way of the world i guess it’s Quite pathetic

  21. Meindl 1930 on March 5, 2023 at 1:10 pm

Explorers, not treasure hunters! Ha, no one searching for these shipwrecks care much about the tea cups and pottery. It’s only ever about the $$$$$$$$$$$, how do you think they pay for the fancy boats and equipment.

  22. Treasure Monk on March 5, 2023 at 1:12 pm

And it ALL belongs to Spanish Government !

  25. Aerofiles on March 5, 2023 at 1:16 pm

Am I the only one who cares about the actual shipwreck and not the treasure lol?

  26. Bruce Jenner on March 5, 2023 at 1:21 pm

It all depends on whether the wreck is in the Colombian commercial area, as to whether they can keep the contents. I see Spain thinks it’s theirs. What many people forget is that Spain STOLE the gold and silver etc fron the native peoples in the first place.

  27. RavenFeathers90 on March 5, 2023 at 1:23 pm

It’s sad to know that all that historical(not just monetary) value is sitting on the ocean floor. We could bring it it up at any time, but we’d rather battle other countries over legal technicalities. Meanwhile, the finder only gets a small finders reward. Which that is highly problematic because it incentivizes treasure hunters to find wrecks, take the metals, and melt them down to sell. That way the origin and evidence is destroyed, but they can still make a profit off the coins. I say the third party finder gets the rights to all of it, with the condition that it must be rescued from the sea floor and they can’t destroy the artistic integrity of the coins. If nations can’t come to an agreement on ownership in a timely manner, the rights to such treasure should default to "finders keepers". We can’t let things just sit down there rust/decay while lawyers do their fancy talk. Wood rots, cannons get rusty, ect.

This is priceless come on now…

  29. jose valadez on March 5, 2023 at 1:26 pm

  30. Al Sehl on March 5, 2023 at 1:27 pm

The treasure should be returned to the countries from which it was plundered.

  31. Troll Trama on March 5, 2023 at 1:27 pm

"Explorers not treasure hunters", I think they need a backhoe to hunt for the metric ton of sand in their vaginas for saying something so gay

  32. Rob Newman on March 5, 2023 at 1:29 pm

    Shipwreck Ahoy.

  33. Michael guy on March 5, 2023 at 1:29 pm

This is cool but recovering the treasure seem a little ghoulish to me. I mean 600 people went down on the ship wouldn’t that constitute grave robbing.

  34. Michelle Visage OnlyFans on March 5, 2023 at 1:30 pm

Why tell anybody? They should have kept it a secret between them and excavate the thing slowly but surely bit by bit, getting rich by selling it on Ebay! LOL!

  35. John Hancock on March 5, 2023 at 1:30 pm

Leave on the bottom, away from greedy government who will take it away from anyone who brings the treasure to the surface.

  36. Scott Kurpgeweit on March 5, 2023 at 1:31 pm

Spain does not deserve any of it!! It was all stolen from the Inca the Maya etc.It belongs to South America

  37. Treasure Monk on March 5, 2023 at 1:32 pm

The first almost REAL story CBS has done in weeks! The title says “is worth” then you say “maybe worth billions” I’m guessing you guys didn’t have anything bad to say about Trump again today??

  39. Pulsar Play on March 5, 2023 at 1:34 pm

Sunken military ships and everything in them are the property of the nation they served. It does not matter whether or not they are in international waters or in any country. And if there are military corps in them, the entire wreck is considered an inviolable military cemetery protected by maritime laws and international treaties. It doesn’t matter what Colombia says about it.

    Black sams treasure!

  43. Donnie Roessling on March 5, 2023 at 1:37 pm

That ship should be given to Columbia for the atrocities the Spanish did to that continent. They wiped out two major civilizations pillaging for treasure and I bet there was more.

  44. Ronald Treitner on March 5, 2023 at 1:37 pm

well the loot is on a Spanish ship so i’d say its theirs. just because i sail my ship into anyone else’s waters it doesn’t mean my ship and its cargo are theirs, its still my property. although i do believe those who found it should at least get a good reward for doing the leg work and finding it.

  45. Vonkater on March 5, 2023 at 1:38 pm

Greedy government grabs others work of salvage. They won’t get it they will take it after you do all the work.

  46. Sean H on March 5, 2023 at 1:39 pm

If I found that ship it would be secret for everyone onboard to keep and mysteriously coins would turn up for sale on Ebay.

  47. LEWD PATROL on March 5, 2023 at 1:40 pm

Who ever finds it, it’s theirs! So stupid when governments get involved

  48. CreatureConnor on March 5, 2023 at 1:41 pm

  49. David Russell on March 5, 2023 at 1:41 pm

Don’t give it to Spain they stole it anyway
