What is the Dutch Schultz Lost Treasure? Is It Buried Near Phoenicia, New York?
Could the buried treasure of Dutch Schultz be near Phoenicia, New York? On October 23rd, 1935, Dutch Schultz, who was a major player in organized crime, was gunned down at the Palace Chop House in Newark, New Jersey. He died soon after in the morning hours of the 24th, but possibly not before he offered some clues to where he might have secreted a now lost treasure.

Twice this video shows currency with new counterfeit-proof designs which were not used until after 2000. Yet Dutch Schultz made his fortune in the 1930s, some 70 years earlier! The video makers should have at least used period-correct currency!
I will admitt that if the treasure wasn’t found by now theres been more than 1,000 people with metal detectors looking for the waterproof trunk. I really think it was found many years ago or is on private property. i truely think the Dutchman hid it in a different place than Phoenicia honestly.

I had a dream where he buried one of the cache but I don’t think I would ever get to know for sure but I had the dream before I even knew who the guy was.

I’ve camped at devil’s tombstone several times years ago back in the 80’s. Would camp and hike there and then go up to Hunter Mountain for all the ethnic festivals. Fun times. I wish I knew about Dutch Schultz back then…lol….Phoenicia is still a little quiet town to present day. Although I’m older now, I can still move through the woods with the best of them. Maybe I should take a hike through those hills again to search….lol
Hey Jenny I thought about something. I think Dutch was onto something here. Think about this. If he buried his loot in a water tight trunk that couldn’t be damaged by the elements wouldn’t you think that he would of done the exact same thing to the place where he left it in an encased vault so nothing would damage the Trunk it’s self. I mean think about this. He’s afraid that he’s going to get caught embezzling soo many things at that time that he puts this Trunk together and then has a plan to get as much of his money together soo he can hide it from the government bc of the new tax law comeing into effect. Soo he stakes out the place where he hides the Trunk and this is where I think he hides it in a concrete or rock barrier. I don’t think he ever intended to bury it in the ground in the first place I think he hid it in a safe convienent spot thats easily for him to get to. You’d think that someone would of found it by now bc it is consealed in a safe place. I always thought he hid it in a place where only he would know of it’s location. IF it’s consealed in a vault like state it might not ever be found bc of it’s secreted location. Question is where is this secreted vault location where he put it in? I mean lets think like a Gangster here. Gangsters in this situation would only think of their money as being the highest priority in life to achieve. He took his baby and hid it where only he could find it. I think it’s on private property encased in a self made vault that one of his henchman made for it and that was the reason why they made the drive there that day to either put the Trunk in this secreted vault or to add money to it. It’s just as simple as that. This is how Gangsters think folks.
Allegedly he drew a X on a tree I believe this story honestly it’s what I would have done if facing a similar circumstance maybe not buried in the ground but you have to remember he was doing this not because he thought he would be killed he was facing prosecution and possibly going to prison being gun downed is just a cherry on top anyway I’m thinking the tree may have been destroyed somehow by fire, lightening or cut down by unsuspecting person who knows I believe that lock box is out there somewhere.
