Where Can I Find Gold in Iowa?

I show you where to pan for gold in Iowa. Gold panning yields flour gold in this area. Glacial gold can be found in the South Skunk River Area of Jasper County.

Thanks for sharing this! I never was in Iowa yet, but it was interesting for me anyway. Skunk River sounds funny :). Looking forward to see more of your videos. Hello from a Swiss gold prospector

Ah good video Matt, And for all those that don’t reveal their spots like myself. A lot of time and research goes into finding that one great location. There is a lot of gold on the skunk and there are a few locations that I am going to look at in the near future.

In my youth, Mom and I let a raccoon go from the top of that bridge and turkeys go in those woods. Amazing to see this again. Thank you

Wow. Do you remember all of us guys sprint falling down that steep hill on Spencer street bridge there? Little did we know at the time what lay under our feet. Fun to watch Matt. Thanks for sharing.

Matt, this is pretty cool! Matt R. and I got into panning a while back, but life happened for both of us and things got cut short. Now I’m thinking it might be time to pick it back up again! There’s gold in them there glacial sand hills! 😉

I was surprised to see this so close to our farm. Very cool that you can find it there, I have tried a few times but without proper equipment and found nothing. Skunk river as far as I know is named for the skunk weed that grows on the banks. Take your chances being open on the weekends because that’s when the lead gets deposited.
