“Wipe Out” was performed and recorded by The Surfaris in 1963. The title is a reference to “wiping out” on a surfboard. It became one of the most popular and well known instrumentals of its time due to the signature drum solos.
“Hawaii Five-O” was the theme from the popular television series of the same name that ran from 1968 to 1980. It was recorded by the Ventures, an influential surf band, who also recorded their own version of “Wipe Out.”
