10 Places in TENNESSEE You Should NEVER Move To

10 Places in TENNESSEE You Should NEVER Move To

Move to these places and you’re gonna regret it big time!

Tennessee. From the bright lights of Broadway to the picturesque Smokies, the Volunteer State has something for nearly everyone. If you’re into good food and good music, this may just be the place for you. But before you get swept away by the rolling hillsides and southern charm, listen up – because today we’re talking about the places you don’t want to live here.

Now of course, your idea of bad would probably differ from my idea of bad. That’s why I used data and OTHER people’s opinions. We can all agree that stuff like crime and poverty and terrible schools are all things we should avoid, right? Plus, I poured through my data and the opinions of other Tennesseans to get their feedback too. And NO Nashville isn’t on here – though I’m sure with all the recent young folks moving in and all the traffic and homeless people pouring in, many people in Nashville would probably say this place sucks now too. Which is just sad.

While Dolly Parton is singing about working 9 to 5…some places in Tennessee just aren’t working at all. Let’s see where the worst places in the state are.

One and a half hour radius of Nashville there is no more Southern hospitality the natives have turned sour. All that Tennessee had was friendly people, breathtaking scenery and beautiful animals that we share our lives with. Since the California invasion all you see is millions and millions of animals on the road and the buzzards having a buffet. The rich foreigners are hiring Mexicans clearing 20 acres at a time burning tons of plastic and I can provide pictures and everybody thinks they’re better than you because they think they’re rich and these people are poor compared to them so Nashville is not a place to live as well as please don’t destroy another location of value

Memphis the only town in the state where the gangs operate right on the interstate, at night going through don’t stop and don’t pull over unless you want to become a statistic.

Everytime someone here says "oh chattanooga isn’t bad, and ive been all over it" Cap. The people who say that shit are the ones who live in the mountains where it is 99.9% white ol rich dudes

Newport was best known in the ’60s and into the ’80s as the stolen car capitol in the nation. Chop shops was big business.

Cockfighting has been a huge vice for the town for years. Raids net over 140 folks.

Take some advice from an old East Tennessean, don’t stop in Newport. Plan gas-stops in advance.

Oak Ridge was built for the purpose of building the atomic bombs in WWII and is still the HQ for the nation’s nuclear program. As a result, the city has a multi-cultural aspect. Oak Ridge National Lab produces world-class scientific research with the Spallation Neutron Source and Center for Nanophase Material Sciences. Top supercomputers in the world. There are about 100 flags of nation’s that have researchers working there.

More Nobel Prize winners have called Oak Ridge, TN home than anywhere else in the world.

Lived here my entire life. Nashville, Knoxville, chattanooga, Memphis and a number of weird small town names. Didn’t mind most and honestly the small towns in the middle of nowhere are places you should definitely watch over your shoulder when the sun goes down if you are not from there. Tons of people go missing in the north east and along the Appalachian Trail. Memphis is your hot spot for gang violence and gators have finally moved into the area. Beautiful state though, born here and will probably die here.

I lived in Chattanooga, right beside downtown and loved it….and I actually mooned everybody on the driving bridge that you showed at the first .

  23. KingRedBeard on October 11, 2022 at 9:34 am

Well, you pretty much described McMinnville exactly as it is. There aren’t many jobs, crime rate is high, though it’s mostly petty crimes. You can very safely walk the streets at any time and not have to worry. Just don’t leave your car doors unlocked 🙄 The jail is overpopulated, but alot of the inmates are in there for child support and driving charges 🤦‍♂️ And our local government operates at a pace that would make our federal government proud. And our wheel tax is much higher than surrounding counties 🤷‍♂️ But they do a good job with the Christmas lights on Main Street every year, so we have that going for us 🤣

Where is Memphis in this video?

  25. Woob Bowen on October 11, 2022 at 9:35 am

    #2 should be Lynn Garden.
Little town in Kingsport! It has the biggest church in Tennessee probably, but you can buy any dope you want, or go to the liquor store within a mile of it!

Live in Roane County where Rockwood is located, it’s where our Walmart is. It’s pretty bad but I’d have to say the worst city within Roane County is Harriman. Rockwood is desolate, decrepit, jobless, pour, and full of drugs and theft. But in comparison it’s like the town in Roane county that is completely dead and baron compared to Harriman which is more thriving with all of the problems I just listed. So it’s like Rockwood has all of the issues Harriman has, but Harriman is more active therefore the problems are worse. Just a native here so I didn’t look at statistics and I’m not shocked at all Rockwood is on here. I’m just saying if you think that’s bad check out Harriman just a few minutes down the road. 🤦🏻

This dude obviously never traveled these towns.

  40. Deb McPherson on October 11, 2022 at 9:50 am

Kingston, TN. Sucks lived here 30 plus years . Town has gone down to where there’s nothing here except empty buildings. Lots of drugs, lots of good ole boy crap. Certain people ruin this place because they have old faded ideas about up grading the town and bringing in business. Houses are extremely high??? You have a huge lake to look at put a boat on. Float around duh. Clannish, snooty not friendly.

  41. Eric Wilson on October 11, 2022 at 9:50 am

Radford Gatlin was the first postmaster in the East Tennessee area and named the community after himself – Gatlinburg.

Radford was a Confederate sympathizer during the Civil War and the locals ran him out of town, never to return.

East Tennessee was not pro-Confederacy. They couldn’t afford slaves and were not willing to fight and die for the cause. There were many free Black Americans living in the area.

  42. Jan Flower on October 11, 2022 at 9:50 am

  43. Evan Fitzgerald on October 11, 2022 at 9:51 am

I spent a couple weeks in Morristown this summer and had no issues. Seemed like a nice small to medium size town with recreational opportunities and great parks. Didn’t expect to see it on this list.

This video is an excellent example of what results from some dolt who knows absolutely nothing about the places he describes trying to make money off his Youtube channel. Unfortunately, based on his apparent subscriber numbers, it looks like it’s working for him.

I grew up in Lenoir City Tn then I moved to Chattanooga, I missed home so I moved back

  46. impuseuser on October 11, 2022 at 9:56 am

Athens is awful if you appreciate free will. Chattanooga is bad if you are ummm in a certain demographic.

  48. Mary Fowler on October 11, 2022 at 9:58 am

  49. Delphinia Pickett on October 11, 2022 at 9:58 am

I heard black man said about he bought a home in Tullahoma. He said whites what him. He loves God he feels he has to duct his head down drive 30 minutes to Mufreesboro a nice big church.. I meet him. Manchester and Tullahoma will grow get mixed. They are concerned. Murfreesboro Rutherford County is too packed traffic is horrible you can change the quality we had with schools going up but compared to other cities people rather deal with this town where he got so many Californians I’m one too but I’ve been here 18 19 years it wasn’t a great start. I changed my eyes see. I don’t vote the same as in CA. Still keep your eyes open. So sometimes it’s worth driving a half hour to go shopping in one town and live outside another if you rather live in housing groups out in the country it’s kind of like feeling like you’re in a suburb living thing then do it if you want a home built outside somewhere be cautious with town you pick but if you want to be in the mess of the city we have 300 plus people in Murfreesboro deal with our terrible roads we’re not made like Arizona and California I’m hoping it will be so be safer for pedestrians on bikers but it’s a slow move and there’s no mandatory recycling here. Hope soon be. Implants may be a great help on that and clean up our Rivers above the bottles and garbage in our city would be great so you can keep the critters there cuz critters are dying off.. Rivers come more polluted people don’t have the education I know cuz River could be right behind where you live. Hope you all find a great place to live let me know what’s your favorite cities and how’s your shopping some of us are Hispanic mix but pretty much most of us are Americanized
