Makes me wonder what kind of lunetic would ask that his treasure be hurried with him. I think I’d have buried him face down just so I could kick him in the @$$ before they covered him up! Fantastic story Lee, thanks for the video!

My family still owns the deason home, we leased the rights to the Daughters of the American Revolution in the 90s and they maintain the property and keep the story alive . I am related to Knight on my Grandfather’s side and the Deason’s on my Grandmother’s side. I could tell you so many stories about that house, and having been a young child and before my grandfather passed spent many years metal detecting it with him. We have some amazing finds but the “treasure” could truly be buried under what is now the school, the football field, or even the surrounding houses. We’ve found several gold and silver coins throughout the years before he got in bad health and couldn’t. Jones county has some rich history and quite a bit of historical relics have been found just off the Leaf River as well (which is where Knight and his men were hiding in the swamps). If you’d like details or information of other places that I personally know of in the area I would be glad to send you a list. Great story! I would love to add to it as well if you’d like.
