Cable Montana was one of the richest gold mining towns in the state. The miners took more out of the mine then the owners at times. Several stories about a lost treasure exist, this is one of them.

I have read that a nugget weighing 85 pounds once cleaned came out of that mine. It was purchased by W.A. Clark and displayed in his bank in Deer Lodge.

Very interesting. I love metal detecting, prospecting and Treasure hunting. I have been trying to find anything about a lost treasure in Blaine county for me to hunt for. If you got any info on one let me know.
