    since these are before civil war, and that real old dragoon was from the 30’s when texas was it’s own state, what were they doing here? just a federal camp, or was there civil war battles takig place? why were the us feds here during the thirties? was that from the american immigrants, or are the buttons older than the times when they were being dropped by a decade or so? sorry if that’s dumb questions, i’m just getting into the history of these old wars.

    I am a detecting novice and I must really stink! I only find modern clad coins. I am in Austin TX and I just can’t seem to find anything silver, gold or historic. Frustrating!
