Diving Robot Finds $22 Billion In Sunken Gold

Diving Robot Finds $22 Billion In Sunken Gold

The biggest sunken treasure in history has finally been discovered off the coast of California. A diving team was using an unmanned deep sea sumbersible, when they uncovered over $22 billion US dollars worth of gold!

The 300-year-old mystery of the San Jose sunken treasure has finally been solved. The famous ship was sunk by the British Navy in 1708, but now we know the whole story. The San Jose Spanish galleon was thought to be lost forever, but the shipwreck was discovered off the coast of Cartagena, Colombia in 2015 thanks to a state-of-the-art robotic submarine. The Remus 6000 autonomous underwater vehicle, or AUV, discovered the shipwreck and the $22 billion sunken treasure about 1,000 feet underwater. The AUV managed to spot the shipwreck thanks to a high-tech sonar location system and detailed underwater pictures. Researchers knew they had made a once in a lifetime discovery when the Remus 6000 snapped pictures of bronze cannons adorned with dolphins. These cannons were a signature of the San Jose galleon. The San Jose sunken treasure is the most valuable underwater find of all time, but there is a great debate raging behind the scenes. Who gets to keep all that loot? The treasure still remains underwater, and there is still a lot of red tape to cut through before it can be salvaged. Does the treasure belong to Colombia, Spain, or the USA. The treasure was reportedly discovered once before by a group of American explorers, but the Colombian government says the original find in 1981 was not actually the San Jose shipwreck at all. Keep watching to find out how the San Jose sank over 300 years and how this famous ship was finally discovered.

Finders keepers, if the other countries wanted it they should have searched for it and spent the money to recover it.

All that work and TIME put in to finding this wreck, it should go to the people who found it. maybe 10% to the Government. Naaaaaa fuck the government.

  6. Julio Cuellar on October 19, 2022 at 8:45 am

If Colombia government keep the gold they wouldn’t give to the poor one dime. Politicians rob the poor and they will be richer. That’s messed up. 😕 So give it back to it’s original owner.

The sunken ship originally set sail from Panama, how is it Columbia’s cultural heritage? It was a flagship of the Spanish, directed by the King. It will go to Spain through the courts.

  9. BeezHonda on October 19, 2022 at 8:49 am

Why salvage if a greedy country can just take it away from you. If they wanted it why didn’t they search and salvage it. Ancient ships can’t be claimed by modern countries. Spain steals from America and gets sunk trying to take it to Spain and gets sunk. They abandon the treasure and they want it after someone works and spends money to recover it and Spain thinks it can claim something sunk before their government was even existed they are no longer a monarchy. Sounds like greedy government stealing. They should salvage themselves not allow others to do their work

The last I heard was Spain is saying that it’s a military vessel and it belongs to them. Most countries like the United States have the same rules when it comes to military vessels.

the people who found it own it. Its like saying who is responsible for slavery. No one still alive. The owners are dead and because they didnn’t have it when they died it belongs to no one until found. total BS.

Finders keepers in my book, If you can’t be bothered to look for it yourself you don’t have any interest in the finding of anything apart from greed, It costs a lot of money and time to look for these treasures. As someone has already mentioned it was probably insured anyway

  40. john wick on October 19, 2022 at 9:25 am

Countless Central Americans enslaved and worked to death for Spanish greed.
The treasure should go to the actual people…NOT the GOV.

The San Jose was laden with Peru/Bolivian Inca gold stolen by the Spanish…The American’s originally found it and had an agreement with the Colombian Government to split the fortune…when a storm slightly moved the main body of the wreck ..the Colombian Gov reclaimed the San Jose and stole it from the Americans..the dispute is still being litigated…"no honor among thieves"

In a big, slow ship like that, you’re pretty much screwed if you don’t have plenty of backup.
