That’s Beautiful Country where you live.
I think that tear drop button is from a woman’s dress. My grandma had a dress of her mother’s that had similar-ish buttons on the outer coat
Hey, I was wondering if you found anything on that teardrop button? Very interesting piece!
Your biggest luck is,that if something falls to the bodom of a forest-you dont hear it!
I am 70 with Pulmonary Fibrosis. I can’t explore anymore. Thank you for taking me along on your adventures. Love how you really take it slow and let us watch as you uncover and reveal what you find. Very well done.
Congrats on the fugio and draped bust! Woohoo!
what was value of fugio? one of those things you never thought to find
Amazing to find the fugio. One thing you have not mentioned. Often there was a common landing spot for loggers. They swapped stories, ate meals, tended horses and gear. Some even had cook shacks with full time cooks. They were often in the woods all winter because it was too far in for travel. A different world than today for sure. Very cool to see what you find.
Please comment on why you find so many copper coins, but no silver coins.
The fugio is awesome! Good for you! Yay
Good stuff Brad. I better be careful or you might get me out detecting! I bought a trident viper not knowing a thing about any metal detectors, still don’t. My passion is at the river prospecting for gold. And, getting my new invention out into the public.
You banner looks like my area, if that’s Killington Mountain in the background.
Buttons, coins and shoe buckles. Men used to fight to solve disputes. Grab each other- go to the ground while spilling from their pockets and popping buttons off their clothes and sometimes stomp and kick one another (broken shoe buckles) MYSTERY SOLVED ! ! And yes- sometimes bullets and musket balls.
Do you ever find any Brown Bess Bayonets or French coinage?
Since some people want to know why you don’t dig up all signals you should make a video of all beeps picked up to show people
Are there Founding Fathers deniers? *just.. teasing *good video *jealous that I’m not from the area/somewhat true/m’mm, a little bit true
It makes me so delighted that you have found your joy, have family, and earn a living that allows you to follow your happiness. So many of us nvr will know that joy. Please take the time to gives thanks before you venture out.
More than likely the thread worn thin and broke
I still don’t get why so many buttons. I’ve done a vast amount of sewing. No buttons falling off.
The Fugio! Wow! Exciting
Hey, Brad, your shop/garage needs an air compressor! 🙂
thanks for all the information. keep it up please
Enjoyable, as your videos always are! 🙂👍🏻👍🏻
Pls try to keep your hands holding the find in the center of camera frame. We get excited to see your finds too even as you clean them.
7 dislikes, really people. What did somebody p!ss in your corn flakes?
What. do you do to your spoons to display or keep etc.
With all the buttons and suspenders clips you find I can’t believe anyone’s clothes stayed on back in the olden days!😂😂
11:40 Had no idea what a Fugio was but when I saw "Mind Your Business" Ben Franklin immediately came to me. Definitely a phrase straight from him. That and the odd name; he had his "Junto" club in his younger days as well.
garbage targets mask god targets at lower levels. This has been my experience!
Awesome fugio! We don’t have coins like that in Michigan.
it seems you like being amongst the trees..yeah me too! also would like more atv traveling footage…as well……….enjoy!
Hi Brad, thanks from Australia for the great vids. I heard a few months ago that they would burn old clothing to get rid of lice etc. Cheers
your doing a good job, enjoy watching
what is a fugio
Have you ever encountered a bear ?
1/3 RD OF A DOLLAR ACCORDING TO RESOLUTION OF CONGRESS 1776 ………………..""Mind Your Business"" Sun and Sun dial……..GREAT FIND BRO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The metal wears out the thread and the button falls off
I’d like to know the comments of land owners and if they r generous. I assume most do not see the importance of the finds.
amazing illuminati symbolism on that coin, hell that could have been one of the old masonic lodges way out in the sticks there… amazing vids young man, you ever come across any petroglyphs etc.?
There was still a round looking thing in that last hole with the "fujio" coin in it. re-check that spot and you might have a 2nd one. right where the other coin was… https://youtu.be/nn5a94SrSmU?t=664
Thankyou for sharing. Another lovely day in the woods. Good question about how so many buttons got lost though the shank is intact? I think maybe the thread may not always have been of consistant quality. Maybe the thread had weaker parts to it, if it was not of such consistant thickness or not so consistantly spun? Also maybe some shanks had a rougher edge that abraided the thread over time. Also maybe thread was an expensive item to buy & so people did not like to use very much on each button as they had to ration out what they had, though that could turn out to be a false economy.. It might have been a long walk to the nearest shop to buy more.
One thing that does strike me is that a lot of the time they would have been carrying things. If you were carrying a big bundle of firewood, against your front, coat buttons could get caught & pulled off, especially if it was heavy. If they tied a rope around the firewood & put it over their shoulder then every time they adjusted the bundle the rope could catch a button & pull it off. They would not be able to be too mindful of their buttons if they were struggling along with a heavy load.
To answer your question about how the buttons get lost so easily on the fancier coats they were never sewed to the coat. The button Shanks poked through small holes in the coat and then a ribbon or string ran down through all of the buttons. This way they could change their buttons and use different buttons with different coats.
Enjoyed another one of your videos…and your music.
Brad your adventures are so amazing, informational and inspiring. Your so lucky to have so much access to so many great properties and sites. I so enjoy stepping back into time with you with every dig. I wish you would do a garbage dig video just to show all the crap targets you find and I’m sure you will find some treasures along the way.
Love your videos, watching all of them.
My ancestors are from Vermont, growing up rumors flourished within the family, that they fought with Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Country Boys, My Father was a Green Beret:Sgt….entered West Point and descendants are with our gov..avenues…
Love you intro. Yep, packing up, fueling up, ready to ride!
What is the creepiest thing that has happened (or you have seen) while in the woods?
Thank you for sharing and for the bit of history
I learn something new every time I watch. Thanks for the video. Trying to catch up on all your videos. 👍😷🇺🇸
