Exploring one of the ancient abandoned NH roads with a metal detector

Exploring one of the ancient abandoned NH roads with a metal detector

This old road also know as a cart path goes back to the 1730s and I have never walked the entire thing. So I took my Fisher F19 metal detector and went exploring. Walking along it is easy to see this was indeed a road made for wagons back in the colonial days with its rock shoulders and very hard packed ground. I didn’t find anything with the metal detector in this old road but stopped at the cellar hole on the way back. I dug up a couple of relics from the 1700s and that just ended the day perfect.

There is a great deal of climbing up there sweetheart, but a wonderful way to spend some time finding out what was there. The button and buckle are great relics to find out there when you have been there before Charlie, and it was great to see you in a t-shirt and not cold, it looks like spring is there thank goodness. I do enjoy watching your videos, and hiking through the woods with you, thank you sweetheart. Good luck and happy hunting, hiking and exploring my friend, God bless you and NinJen love and hugs Mary-Ellen LFOD UK

We wish Charlie would go and help the Lagina brothers solve the Oak Island mystery.
Enjoyed another stroll in the New England woods, thanks…

    Wow meter peaking.

Hi Charlie, I think what I like best about your videos is the exploration aspect. No old structures and paved roads, just exploring the woods and topographically imagining the times past.

How many relics and buttons do you carry with you to re-find once you actually find NOTHING in order to make a video ?

  8. @daisymay4183 on January 7, 2024 at 9:12 am

It was a soggy hike but got mission accomplished. Such an enjoyable adventure. Thanks Charlie.

That was neat, at the end of your video, when you did the flashbacks to different parts of your hike! Love your videos!

Charlie, just an observation, you wouldn’t have to walk so far if you would remember to take your camera

An other nicely shot video. I hope people appreciate how long it takes to shoot those shots of Charlie walking away from the camera. Entertaining as always.

Charlie buttons and buckles are the things that we hope for. You had a nice long hike in new places and a couple relics. It doesn’t get any better than that. Well maybe a pocket full of relics would be better but it was still a nice day

It’s so great to see these old cartpaths and homesites!
Why don’t trees grow on the old cartpaths? Is it because they are still used as footpaths, or because they are packed too densely? Or …?

  25. @davidcovert4915 on January 7, 2024 at 9:36 am

Nice adventure ending in a couple of nice finds.
