Some questions. In New Jersey here. We just had some hard rain, so the nearby creeks are running high and fast. Can I get an idea where the gold is likely to be deposited by studying the flow now and going back later after the runoff is gone? Also, the streams have places where they widen into a marsh like environment. Would I find the most gold at the marsh entrance or exit where it narrows down again? Would the middle of the marsh hold anything worth digging for? If possible, could creating a temporary dam act as a gold trap?

What state are you in mate?
I am pretty picky, my return needs to be worth the effort and time, that is why I grab a few pails filled from different potential areas and take it home to put through a passive system. Stop wasting time and find ways to save time and effort. Heck you can do as little as using a gallon glass jar and toss in a test after removing the stones and pebbles, just add water put lid on and shake a bit the swirl…hold jar up and look up at the bottom.
