After you left the water running off of the rocks and you went to that rock formation it almost look like a fossil

Imagine this beauty and seclusion, to then find tunnels as big as a modern door(dug by hand) running in 4 different places. As a kid my dad and I while ginseng hunting, happened up on such a place. Down below the large cave was a medium creek running parallel to the cave with the tunnels. In the bank of the creek directly below the cave, was what we thought, pure sulfur coming from the hillside(below cave and tunnels) like a natural spring. Someone did a lot of work to acquire something? There was an old 2 story house on the old road going to and from the property. We stopped to talk to an elderly man in the driveway. He said he’d lived there all his life and remembered explosions and a guy with pack mules loaded down coming out from that area when he was a kid. He was 87 years old at that time. That was around 40 years ago.
