I am a Berkshire Boy just came across this today seeing if anyone actually pans for gold in Ma. Good stuff.
gotta think back 1000s of years most likely the water was 20 or 30 ft higher and with floods it easily will move boulders.. im from sw nh .. good luck and heavy pans!! feel free to check out some of our many vids.. about to start a new season!!

Scrape all that moss of the rocks and break it up. Then pan the results. Mother nature’s miner’s moss has been capturing bits of gold in that "miner’s moss" for thousands of years.

Glad to come across this, started planning in MA, NH and Maine in the last year or so. So many hidden little areas was wondering if I was wasting time in them, but this made me wana run back out
