And they put all the great high priced items on ebay. That’s the down fall. For customers. I worked for the good will for 3 days then I quit. Because the great stuff is going online. Enough said.

I worked for Goodwill they don’t wash but whatever comes in the employees usually take what they want first. Did you know that!!

  5. @loetzcollector466 on January 12, 2024 at 9:27 am

I worked at goodwill as a truck driver for 3 years now. Before that I worked in a store for a year. I had to stop listening halfway through your lecture because every single word is total BS so far.
Who told you this drivel?? Air fresheners?
As a truck driver, I know 100% that the good merchandise does go to the good stores in the good area for better or worse.
At the wages goodwill pay is, we barely have Enough drivers to cover our regular routes. Who has time together up good merchandise from one store and shlep it across town to another store?
All you need for a following of gullible people is a woman with a halfway passable face who sounds confident.

I have sourced all over TX, OK, and AR. I have volunteered in numerous Goodwill’s all over Central Texas. Non have or use an air freshener or any chemicals to make their items smell a certain order. You are stereo typing the Goodwill’s you source from. Not a good idea!

  9. @ginglosch1 on January 12, 2024 at 9:31 am

There is not one CEO for all goodwills! Deborah Passerini is the CEO of goodwill suncoast and she does a lot for the community! We also do not have air freshener in our stores . Not all goodwills have that rich CEO

Goodwill where people with no taste can pretend they have some.

  14. @vlogness3080 on January 12, 2024 at 9:46 am

First off I work at goodwill and they do not spray air freshener on the cloths and also in case you guys are wondering we don’t wash the dishes either. 2 we live in a wealthy neighborhood/ city and we get better stuff then other goodwills. That’s why we are packed all day every day. 3 we know our name brands and we also look things up. So if someone like 300 online we will price it for like 20 or so. We do the 3rd of the price on everything. 4 we don’t pair with stores that’s a lie. We get what people donate to us. Most of our stuff is used anyways. 5 you can return clothes up to 7 days and we can hold furniture you bought for 24 hours, but you can’t return furniture or electronics. You buy them as is. And last but not lest. Every day we are pushing out new items. We want fresh things out on the daily. Everything we touch must be processed for more then 24 hours

Another thing Glass items. For all colored glass that does not sell, it is broken and sent to a landfill. Because this glass is not recyclable.

  22. @mssavage6927 on January 12, 2024 at 9:53 am

Hello not all goodwills are corporation own. we have 10 in our area that are own by 1 guy. He bought in the corporation name. So he makes the rules for all his goodwills. So before you buy you need to check the rules of the store for everything. So yes you can buy into owning a Goodwill if you have the money to do so.

  23. @reynaldaverdoza3469 on January 12, 2024 at 9:54 am

I live in Southern California and I know we have different regions just within this area. I lived in OC and they had a 50% off color of the week and I believe a Senior Discount day (I didn’t pay attention since I’m not in that category yet). Now I am in San Diego County and they do not have a 50% off color of the week. They only offer 10% off for Seniors, Veterans, Nurses and Students all the time, which I am none of either. You can sign up for their emails and you get an occasional coupon for 20-25% off one item. I think I had one coupon for 20% off total purchase once. The prices are high here and have really gone up in the last 6 months especially at "Boutique" stores. I have an Outlet Store near me, it’s structured differently than others, it’s not by the pound. Each item of clothing has a certain price point, and hard goods are 50% off the marked price. I had gone several times in the past but was unsuccessful in finding much, especially in hard goods but I went this week and found some good stuff. I think it’s because the prices are so high in the stores, things are ending up at the outlet now. For example, there was a small milk glass bowl priced originally for 7.99, it had been marked down to 3.99 (which I haven’t ever seen markdowns at the stores I frequent, so that was interesting) I got it for 1.99 at the outlet, which is probably what it should have been in the first place.

  40. @MrRrc123 on January 12, 2024 at 10:10 am

Goodwill sells dallor tree items for more then dallor tree..$1.99 for a dallor tree item, come on goodwill after all most of the items are donated and they sell the clothes for like $7.99 for a shirt.

  41. @IceESole on January 12, 2024 at 10:11 am

Goodwill are over priced. Even thrifts….hit and miss when you shop there..shop when prices are half off..

  42. @girleyreds11-11 on January 12, 2024 at 10:11 am

So I managed to Goodwill what would happen is the people come around the back and there are workers there that take their items give them a receipt if they want it we put it in a big giant box or boxes and what happens is the sorters in the back are sorting through what came from the boxes that the tractor-trailer from the Goodwill Distribution Center gave us and we had a trailer in the back where the Overflow would go so we bring a few boxes into the back room cuz obviously we couldn’t fit everything that the truck brought and when they run out they go to the trailer in the parking lot and bringing more boxes if it was a good day and the sorters went through all of that then they would start working on the donations that came in that day from the loading dock. Now throughout the day the manager or some other people in charge in the back might start going through the boxes of donated items that came in that day specifically and they almost kind of cherry-pick the good stuff and either ear market for online which we had to do if we knew it was an expensive item or looked on eBay and saw that we could get a ton of money but I didn’t care I will just price it and put it in the front case as a special item because I wanted to make money for our store I couldn’t guarantee that online we were going to get those credits and it definitely didn’t help us for our daily goals that we had to meet every store has to meet a daily goal and you’re competing against all the other stores in your District you can see what all the other all day long it’s like a running real-time tally is ridiculous. But whatever is not cherry-pick by the end of the day from all the donations that came in specifically that location when the next truck comes and drops off pre-sorted boxes we are to give those to the truck driver they go to the Distribution Center to get sorted and yes absolutely the nicest stuff will go to the nicest stores or for instance we had a new store opening up in that District in a richeytown in our state and they had a million-dollar Mark that they were trying to make for the first year it was open so obviously they were getting all the good stuff and while the store was still being built they were cherry-picking for about 5-6 months nice things to load that store whistle when the grand opening happened you were so impressed by all the items that were in that store so the other stores in our district suffered for six months because everything good was being cherry-pick for that that store and it wasn’t even open yet it was all being housed at a warehouse waiting for the store to be ready

  43. @t.e.g.4405 on January 12, 2024 at 10:12 am

🧐 READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO TO GOODWILL AGAIN AND YOU PROBABLY NEVER GO AGAIN AND DO NOT DONATE TO THEM.
I disagree with it, what they do with the stuff after I did not sell it if you want to see pictures I’ll be glad to send them to you they throw it in the dumpster and roll off and they break it up in pieces and destroy it don’t kid yourself they throw away more than 40%. That’s a fact I’ll send you pictures I can prove it. Not to mention all the stuff that the managers employees take out the back door you would not believe it sit back at one of the back doors and watch it’s amazing I’m not scared of them they threw me out of their store but that don’t stop me I still fight your stupidity don’t donate to anything to Goodwill that’s what I think they don’t deserve it don’t feed the piggy bank he’s a millionaire now
