Love Katsu and Ramen!
Downtown Coffee has the BEST iced latte I’ve ever had anywhere. And I’m from the Seattle area. My first time blew me and my mind away!
So the brief story on Rada’s and Vicky’s is that Rada’s was originally owned by a Russian woman named Rada. But she had to return home to family, so she sold the business to Vicky’s. They were in two separate locations in Ft. Street Mall but combined after a while to save on rent. That’s why they are both together. The original Rada’s pirosckis were, IMO, a lot better, but amazing that it’s still there! I think at one time, Rada’s was also at Ala Moana next to Lyn’s Deli.
Aloha foodie ohana!
what does Felix do for a living?
Aloha~ OOOooHHhh U guys were in my Hood..da Most Safest place on da island..w/lots yummy places to eat a island lol Mahalo.🤣😂😁
Everything Looks good
Will try all the places when I go downtown. I am unfamiliar with deep fried pirockis.
i would like to get into making espresso too one of these days 🧐
I LOVE FRED HE HAS SUCH A BIG HEART❤❤❤
That Tonkatsu place is a must for me!! Wow!! Looks superior!!
Got a 7am flight, see you soon Oahu!
Amanda Felix, love your channel! I’m local but live on the mainland now and I’d love to see a video on local snacks or souvenirs or gifts that people can buy when visiting Hawaii. Besides coffee, macadamia nuts, li hung, I’m interested in seeing what your recommendations are!
Thanks for taking us on another great adventure! Adding great spots to my Eats Bucket List for my next visit to HNL. Love you guys for what you do!
$3 is a bargain for such a huge piroscki especially in Downtown. That thing is a meal in itself.
That pork chop plate lunch and tonkatsu both looked yummy! Will have to remember those next time I’m downtown. Thanks for showing us those hidden gems (and the outtakes were funny in this one too 🤣)!
For sure, Downtown workers get to try some amazing food that we never know about! Great reviews. I want some coffee!❤
😎♥️♥️👍👍💕💕
So these baked meat-filled buns have many different names. I know them as Beirock due to the Volga Germans and Mennonites that settled in the Reedley area of California. But they are also called Runza, Pirog, Pirogies, Pirok, Krautbuger, or even Kraut Pirok. Traditionally they have cabbage, sour kraut, ground beef, and salt and pepper to taste wrapped in a dough and baked.
Well you both are looking so great
Just a question as a watch guy I was wondering why I have not seen Felix wear any of his for a while
Just curious
I miss Rada’s. I haven eaten there in more than 15 years, I am glad they are still around.
Aloha Amanda & Felix…Have not been to Rada’s in years. The size of them seems to be a lot larger than what I remembered. They still looked good though. Fort Street Mall has a lot of cool eateries and sometimes it is great just to wonder down there on the weekday and have a lunch with friends. Another great episode. Keep up the great content. Have an awesome day…
love Rada’s use to go there back in the 90s after jumping off number 2 bus before heading home for the fried squid and piroscki…Radas use to be next to one fried chicken place where i paid for one plate was like $4…back in the day prices LOL even the piroscki and fried squid was hella cheap…
The fried squid from Rada’s is my fave there. You have to dip them in the sauce to cut through the fat of the oil.
You might want to avoid putting anything down or sitting on anything in dt esp on ft st mall area. I used to work in 1132 bishop where you were reviewing radas and early in the morning they were hosing down urine and putting kitty litter on the number 2 left by the homeless.
The spam musubi at JoJo’s couple shops up from ft Street Cafe is my favorite in dt.
So pirozhki has a lot of different spellings because there are different regional versions of it. So you will find all different versions of how it’s spelled based on the region it is coming from, along with slightly different recipes and preparations. They exist in quite a few regions across the world, Greece, Serbia, Latvia, Armenia, Finland, Iran, Uzbekistan, even Japan and Mongolia to name a few.
Love Heidi’s! Been going there since the 80’s. Best sandwich
Haven’t been downtown in awhile & it’s been longer since have ate from Rada"s. Just FYI…Think Rada’s used to be further up from present location, on the opposite side. That beef & chicken piroscki looks Killah!
yay you guys finally got to try downtown coffee lol. hope ya’ll liked it cuz we love their matcha latte with a shot of espresso 👍 love the vid guys! ❤
Next on Amanda and Felix Eats…the mosquito will review the complexities of the unique flavors of Amanda and Felix themselves! 😂
Can’t get enough of the outtakes!😂 The tonkatsu looks so good!
Aloha guys 🌺 the best food was the Japanese foods you guys had , the piroshki’s looked a little to heavy , my favorite part is the desert segment Amanda does 👍👍👍
Aloha Foodie Ohana 😋
Nice to see you guys visiting in my daughter’s neighborhood, I’ve walked that area many time! I even tried YiFang Taiwan Fruit Tea’s Original Egg Pancakes because of your video and really liked them! Guess my next trip I’ll have to try The Lunch Spot and Tonkatsu Sangi, both look really good!
