Spent my childhood on Highway 1 almost every weekend between 1962 and 1977. Traveling from Shreveport to my grandparents in Bellwood which is a few miles south of Provençal which is a few miles south of Nachitoches.

Nothing more welcoming to outsiders than a speed trap.

Sad to watch. I grew up in the quaint town of Boyce in the mid 60s and now its gone. All I have left is my memories.

My first trip to natchitoches was in 1977 no n/s l-49. I had to find that town . Me and my motorcycle found it. I graduated in 1979. Never used l-49. But it was money well spent on Louisiana infrastructure
