On quiet days, in addition to the deer, you can sometimes see snakes, turtles, alligators, and wild turkeys. Once, I had 2 otters swim beneath my float! I’ve yet to see any black bears but they’re said to be in the area as well.

When my dad was young and my brother about 12-13 and my grandpa in his 60’s they were wading in this run (Rock Springs) when my brother spotted a gator and climbed on my dads back and my grandpa climbed on too. Funny story but could have ended very differently. My dad somehow got them both to shore.
