It is believed that Spanish explorers left behind a hidden gold treasure somewhere in this cave. As the legend goes, Native American Indians seeking revenge killed all of them except one survivor who managed to escape to safety and tell the tale. How much truth to it ? Has somebody else done found the treasure and looted it ? Nobody knows for sure. Explorers are still finding Spanish artifacts and making new discoveries about the cave even to this day.
