WELLLLLL I believe my 4X GREAT uncle Abraham D Chennault and his brother John Nelson Chennault had hands in… because old JEFFERSON DAVIS stopped at the Chennault Plantation. Why out of the many Plantations in Wilkes. Carraway Plantation Robert Toombs the great Successionest. I would love to believe that when Col Wild carried them (the brothers) off to DC to be interrogated the SLAVES STOLE the Gold!!! This would include my 3X Grtgrandparents since my UNCLE’S owned their brother and his MOTHER. I would have hoped that they knew JEFFERSON DAVIS was coming because of talk you know … TALK around the SLAVE CAUSE their too STUPID….. BS… Researching my family has been a rollercoaster… it made me ill to know JEFFERSON DAVIS stopped at my UNCLE’S PLANTATION and they even named the dog for HIM. I would loveeeeeee to believe…. The SLAVES STOLE the Gold!!?
    Gotta love it

I’ve known about the Abbot family in the "Unsolved Mysteries" TV series way back in d ’80s. Who buried some gold treasures(Confederate gold), including jewelries in Lake Michigan in the 19th Century. & treasure hunters became crazy searching for it for decades.

  6. Anthony Poole on September 15, 2022 at 7:18 pm

If someone finds that , sons of the confederacy would be interested in that.

Minty was no where near the capture of Davis. He never worked for any railroad in Georgia, nor the railroad in Ohio that is alleged in this video. He was also living in Arizona at the time they claim this gold was in a box car going over Lake Michigan, so clearly he’d have had no reason to be moving this mythical gold around Michigan. It’s a fun story based on zero actual facts. Troopers from his old regiment, the 4th Michigan, participated in the capture, but Minty was a brigade commander then, and was over 100 miles away at the time. The regiment was then being commanded by Col. Benjamin Pritchard.

The answer is loud and clear NO!
Annoying fake-show, created to make real money. Your money. Read book, fellows. That’s much more „productive“.

If some gold from the cache turned up at a coin show…. would it stand to reason that it’s not in the lake ?

  10. Matt Klein on September 15, 2022 at 7:22 pm

I know where that gold went. The last know men who were protecting it when Davis got captured split it up. A friend of mine has an ancestor that was broke before the war and after suddenly became very wealthy. How can that happen??? He got a portion of that gold!!!

Minty was a fascinating character, and not all of it in a good way, though this "Confederate gold" story has nothing to do with that. He was an excellent civil war cavalry leader, but his personal life after the war was less than admirable. He had an affair with his wife’s sister, living a double life with two families with those sisters for years before being found out. I wrote an article about him here: http://thewildgeese.irish/profiles/blogs/robert-horatio-george-minty-past-imperfect-hero

Michigan would spend $2,000,000 of tax money a week looking for the 2,000,000 in gold

  19. Dudeperfectpsu Hugs on September 15, 2022 at 7:33 pm

they have a tv show on history channel with these guys trying to find it.

  20. Kelly oxo on September 15, 2022 at 7:40 pm

If that gold is from Georgia its quite possible it belonged to the Cherokee, I don’t see how it would belong to the state of Michigan since it was stolen from Georgia. The Civil War was not that long ago. My grandfather’s grandfather was in the Civil War.

    Is there bollox!

  22. Mr. Vinegaroon on September 15, 2022 at 7:41 pm

If he got the gold to Michigan, why not keep it, put it in his basement or attic or something? Why put it on a boxcar and send it out across Lake Michigan? Judah Benjamin confiscated a large amount of Confederate gold when he escaped to Cuba and on to UK after the surrender. I believe some of it was taken by Confederates escorting Jefferson Davis and some is still buried near Irwinville.

So the original government created by those men is established with "The Articles of Confederation", as a confederacy. See: The United States of America government on yt. When Manhatten Island corp created the United States corp., as impersonating the original gov. – intent or no, the Dutch co. had previously given itself power to create wars and do commerce, so there was war created. The south withdrew from congress for a tax debt imposed on them by businessmen ACTING as legit players in this game. We never lost our original confederacy, folks. I’m not sure that sine di means that only the south can claim to still be a confederacy, esp. since they left congress hanging for all these years. Most people in the north have no idea what happened about any of that. The U.S. constitution does not negate the AOC. The meeting called to make amendments to the AOC, was unlawfully used to create a constitution for a corporation called the U.S. CORP. and that is how the bank of ny melon, dutch east indies, and London co. in VA, and many of their sister corpses, does business. They really don’t have the right to demand your loyalty anymore than your favorite business does. We could get most of the world flipped right side up as we realize this one truth.

Do people still fall for the "Confederate gold" scam?

  32. Krrrimmi on September 15, 2022 at 7:56 pm

So, "The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly movie script is missing 1 zero. It’s only $200,000. lol

  33. Rebecca Giordano on September 15, 2022 at 7:57 pm

It belongs to the South! Just like all the other plunder that was taken. And believe me the Confederacy still lives in the hearts of true Southerners! This can’t end well.

Whats fishy is if he was told about this gold back in the 70’s why would it take 35 to 40 yrs to get moving on it? I could see maybe 10 yrs stretching it out for research or funding but 35 yrs makes me not want to believe. Fyi…….back in the 1960’s someone told me where the ark of the covenant was……I think about that information often, one day I should look into it……lol

  37. Mister Bill on September 15, 2022 at 7:59 pm

This is a hokey tv show, riding the wave of Oak Island. / It was easy for me to research and find out what happened to the Confederate treasury. It was dispersed at various points for various debts. The yanks got none of it and none went to Michigan. The trail ended in Florida and there wasn’t much left to divide up. Its the CSA archives that are missing and that would be the real treasure.

  41. RAIN MAYHEM on September 15, 2022 at 8:07 pm

There would be reports of a box car full of gold being pushed off a ferry. This is just another bullshit story they are now making a tv show out of
