  8. CAO Designworks on October 8, 2022 at 9:03 am

Out of every channel I watch on youtube/ audio I play through my computer, It’s Simon’s network of channels that always sound like they dropped all mid and high range sounds for only the lows.

I have always believed it was Mallory and Irvine who conquered Everest. I hope one day the camera is found and proves they were the first to get to Everests Summit.

If the sword is in the states, it’s time we get it back to them. I understand the initial visceral anger towards the Japanese, as my grandfather fought valiantly against them out of anger over Pearl Harbor. However, the Japanese have been outstanding allies to us for over 60 years, and I have some great Japanese friends, having worked for years in math and physics. I hope we can eventually restore their natural treasure to them. Such objects belong in the hands of the nations whose masters created them, not in the basement of a rich collector.

The end of the internet in the future will be found to be the fault of Simon, who literally, with his gazillion channels of different content was found to have ‘broken the internet’ as we know it by overloading the WWW.
Simon denied the allegation, but unable to help himself, then created a channel called, ‘I did not break the internet’!! 🙂

Vanishing from the earth? Krys the Savanna King. Shot in the 1950’s. Huge Australian saltwater crocodile. Yet…………..all proof?gone apparently by fire. Nothing left. Just…….the story. 1823..Philippines same..a huge killer crocodile. 27 feet.estimated at 4,400lbs. Killed for years.By far the largest. With compelling story. All but forgotten. Wikipedia is terrible…they know only a sentence.

As a lesbian, the attempt to heterosexualize Sappho’s Poems is genuinely hilarious. She was SO gay, and it’s just so funny that people try to say homosexuality is new, because I can instantly point out the fact that Sappho was essentially writing gay smut fanfics about Aphrodite back around 500-600 BC.

    How about the crown jewels?
Not the ones in The Tower of London but the first set, believed to have been sunk somewhere off the coast of East Anglia.

  25. Mini DK#9 on October 8, 2022 at 9:21 am

I think Mallory’s camera is in China.

  26. Diana Almeida on October 8, 2022 at 9:21 am

Did you know that Sappho killed herself because of a man?Ancient Greeks didn’t have the same notions of what we consider today as being lesbian or gay. Would a lesbian kill herself for the unrequited love of a man? What do we really know about her passions and desires? Are they to be taken so literally? Food for thought.

  27. P C on October 8, 2022 at 9:21 am

  28. C C on October 8, 2022 at 9:24 am

Imagine how many irreplaceable artefacts are lost forever because they rot away in the basement of some people who don’t have the slightest clue about their historical importance.

Check out the spider rocks in Texas. Little known story of Spanish gold and silver mined and buried in Texas for seed money for Spanish colonialism into what is now Texas, New Mexico, Colorado. This refined ore was so massive, It could not be taken back into what is now Mexico because of hostile Indian groups such as the Comanche Indians, lord of the plains. Check out the book "The Spider Rock Treasure: A Texas Mystery of Lost Spanish Gold" by Steve Wilson.

Please make a video about the most valuable paintings which went missing in WW2

  36. Jason son of Torah on October 8, 2022 at 9:35 am

Why should that painting be worth anything to real people who understand value? That’s just a rich people’s game lol, a true show of idiocy. We are well on our way to making true the movie called idiocracy.

I really feel like the art the nazis stole is either at worst, all burned to ash, at best buried in the middle of nowhere in germany.

Never understood the fascination for fancy eggs. Reminds me of a golden toothpick with diamonds. $15,000. Advertised as.”For the man who has everything.” Excess wealth…makes for some over rated jewelry.

  42. Eric Awalt on October 8, 2022 at 9:44 am

The Sappho poems’ story is fascinating … a literary collection of writings that were widely copied and dispersed, yet 95+% of which somehow disappeared! To have the disappearance be that complete implies a dedicated (to the point of utter fanaticism!) effort that lasted for years (even decades!) and was carried out by at least scores, if not hundreds, of ‘agents’ … the obvious instigator being that Pope who decreed their destruction.
But there would’ve been collectors scattered all over whose enthusiasm for her work would make them do their best to preserve whatever they could. And at least a few of them would probably have the resources to do an effective job of it.
Someday, somewhere, someone will make a discovery that will make them famous!

  43. Philly Special on October 8, 2022 at 9:46 am

What happens if you happen apond one of these treasures? Can you sell it as if it’s your own are have to hand it back to the country it came from?

It was discovered recently that the Chinese government found that Irwin’s camera below the summit of Mount Everest back in 1960’s and took back to China.

  47. Athlynne on October 8, 2022 at 9:50 am

Great stuff, Simon, but you’re pronouncing those Japanese names wrong, they start with Is, not Ls. Not "Le-mah-sa," "Ee-eh-ma-sa," like that.

  48. Tom Frazier on October 8, 2022 at 9:52 am

The old historical society museum in San Luis Obispo had a Japanese sword in it for years. I’m not sure if someone qualified actually looked at it. I had a late War type 95 NCO sword with original paint scabbard and a plain iron tsuba. It was stolen from me and hasn’t been seen since.

The Emperor’s tomb? China says they found it…but never confirmed. A huge miniature of the city..and country..an elaborate sarcophagus and rivers of pure mercury. Be nice to cover this…lost treasure. They found the emperor’s army in 1974…after long being thought only a myth.
