The history channel has become more about bullshit TV shows and less about actually history and documentaries. When that treasure is actually found people could be in danger about it. There are those out there that would want it for themselves. I hope that it may stay buried if there is anything.

Last summer (2019) they found a big tunnel …i think in the swamp.We will see soon on sunday nov 10th 2019. You don’t spend 10 years of youre life ( summer time) on a Canadian island just for fun.They believe in it and maybe they found something in that tunnel.Who knows.?

I don´t need to be sherlock holmes to deduce that the treasure is long gone before the pit was discovered in 1795. How ? Simple. Who would leave rope and tackle to indicate where a treasure is hidden for all to see ? The elaborate tunnel system was constructed in such a way that whatever was hidden there, could be removed without causing flooding if one knew the right way to extract the hidden wealth. Then why the trouble of covering everything up again ? With the treasure gone, there would be no cause to "hide" the location again. Ah, but who is to say that the rope and tackle was left in plain sight on purpose ? Suppose whoever removed the treasure had to leave in such a hurry that there was no time to remove the said items ?
One simple way to find out when the treasure was buried is to make a laboratory test of a piece of rope similar in type to the one found at the site and by artificial means, expose it to weather conditions to determine how long it can last. Remember, the account from 1795 stated that the rope and tackle was well preserved. I presume one can go about using this method but is not sure.
