If there are really birds this big, then where are they hiding? Where are they nesting? I’d love to believe it but it seems like a big fish story to me.

My favorite cryptid I find it the most interesting. Native Americans have many legends about the thunderbird. I believe it flies up high in the stratosphere. Then it follows the big storm winds, carried by the currents and nesting 🪹 in high mountain caves or cliffs. They’re jet black with a giant purplish beak due to colder temperatures.

Good doc boys. Seems though they would have done more prep/groundwork BEFORE climbing that ridge, i.e. interviewing family, the witness etc. Historically and spiritually speaking, one Thunderbird could affect the weather, in a more physical reality though, it would take over 1,000 Thunderbirds to effect weather, the global system is HUGE, VAST and VERY strong….

If there is still a large extinct raptor living in Alaska, and the natives said the thunderbirds created bad weather , the bad weather could just have been the huge wings shifting the clouds making it look like they were creating the storms , and I would imagine that if one looked at a satellite weather data as the huge wings were moving the air/wind and causing the clouds to shift in weird patterns , it may also look just like the pattern of mountain waves , just saying…..

Here’s the thing with creatures like this. Due to its massive size if it did exist it would be voracious and if it truly changed the weather as a hunting tactic then it would likely be highly territorial and in all likely hood there would only be maybe a couple dozens per continent due to its territorial and unconfirmed nature.

About 10 years ago, I was walking along the lake shore here along Northwestern, Michigan. As I was walking along the walking path, at the corner of my eye, a HUGE EAGLE swooped down upon me, I fell to the ground as it swooped down upon me and it REALIZED I was larger than him and it immediately swerved to the side and back up towards the tops of the trees. It could have grabbed my head, took out one of my eyes or tore into my face. (I was LUCKY by reacting as "QUICK" as I did! There was no noise, no warning and immediate DANGER! So this girl who was jogging and never seen again, it doesn’t surprise me. After this incident I look up more on walks. Learning to be MORE AWARE of the surrounds and what might be up in the tree tops, I seen a dead deer leg way up in a tree. This might explain their perches and food storage, after they kill an animal. So this POOR GIRL/JOGGER or her remains will never be found up along the mountain where she was running but carried further off and where her remains may still be.

When I watch some of these episodes and listen to their wild testimony I can’t help wondering how much LSD they done before the alleged incident occurred.
Truly I tell that I saw a thunderbird sized bird in Wisconsin over my step Grandpa’s Farm above the rush river driving my car down the road At around 400 to 500 yards away . It was easily comparable to a small plane . I still am in partial disbelief if not for having seen it and know it was a Giant Bird .

The size of the thunder bird seems to large for the average story of its thought size, but the skin walkers mocking as the otter always seem over larger for the animal portrayed.

the description feeding type hunting style and the guy who said it was carrying a deer are reminiscent of the middle eastern Roku or Roc-Bird. that would swoop down and carry large prey and drop them then eat the remains of their kill. could this be the same crypto-zoology? This was a classic Missing 411 case, including the rain. These are abductions. The thunderbird connection is tenuous, as it’s based on this one witness- who comes off as weird. But maybe. If they are predatory- re-thinking that- it would make a lot of sense. A bird wouldn’t necessarily evoke fear, and what else is it doing? The data as far as the way people describe it sounds mixed, that’s the weird part. But the association with changing weather is really sketchy. It’s clearly a very real thing, as it’s ubiquitous in the folklore up there. Maybe it is abducting people.
The story of it picking up the deer is believable and it reminds me of the elk being lifted story from David Paulides’ documentary. But the thing has to eat, so I’m not sure how significant that story is.
Anyway, Ken Gerhard is actually a legit researcher who’s written several cryptozoology books; I’d love to talk to him.
It’s NOT a "mysterious triangle;" it simply shows where most of the population resides.
