More Old Koloa Town HISTORY | HAWAII Vacation Tips

This weeks video takes us back to Old Koloa Town for a history lesson with one of our subscribers, Jack! He restored Old Koloa Town in the 80’s and was gracious enough to meet with us and to provide us with several old photos and newspaper clippings from that time. A special thanks to Jack for the history lesson!

Aloha we are Autumn and Brodi. Follow us weekly as we explore the island that we call home…Kauai! Taking you on adventures, providing travel tips, sharing island facts/history, and showing you how to travel like a local!

Ps we were also looking to commemorate our trip with a tattoo and was wondering if you had any recommendations on shops on the island?

We have driven through Old Koloa Town several times going to and from other places, but have not stopped due to heavy traffic. Your video inspires us to get there early in the morning next time we visit Kauai, and check out the history of such an amazing place! Thank you for putting these videos up for all of us! You guys are doing a wonderful job of bringing the beauty of Kauai to your subscribers!

Hey Guys, thanks for doing the update video. I really enjoyed meeting you and revisiting the work we did in Koloa. Its hard to believe it was over 35 years ago. I cant help but wonder if there might be a few people who remember me from back then that are thinking look how old he is now. lol

Yes, we love to learn more about Kauai. We were on our way to Kauai when Hurricane InikiΒ  hit. so we had to go to Maui. A year later we went to Kauai and people where still living in tents. But you know that was one of the best trips ever. Locals where so happy that tourist came back. We will always come back:)

Love the video, Aloha from Cali. I remember Surf & Cycle, used to go there to buy wax for the surfboard(strawberry flavored), long sleeve shirts and get my hair cut from that barber shop when I was a lot younger, thanks for sharing. Mahalo!!!
