Nodena Site, Arkansas ~ Lost, The Mayans & Orion

Nodena Site, Arkansas ~ Lost, The Mayans & Orion

My report on the Nodena pyramid mound site in eastern Arkansas near the Mississippi River. Lost today, but I dug up plenty of info over coffee. Atrifacts, old pics and an Orion-Mayan connection.

There’s a caddo Indian site in s west ark at the town of Murfreesboro and I think that same archeologist did some studies there

    (Pushed the wrong button)
Were you referencing those in Acre and Beni in the Brazil area?
Those 2 states are exhibiting some extreme mounds, connected causeways, and raised garden fields.

Another very interesting lost ancient site, and once again the undeniable Orion connection.
The artifacts found have defenetly a mesoamerican look to them.
Great report Chuck, thank you very much.

Hey. I recommended this site and culture. I need a shout out!

It’s not what you were asking for but there’s a significative similarity between Baksei Chamkrong (Cambodia) and Tikal (Guatemala) temples. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97Ri7Xev6ro

North and South America were culturally connected for sure; at least that’s what an native south american that teached arquitecture told me.

Thanks. Cant help but ask myself if peoples from far south of border came up this way to get away from whatever was befalling those cultures. At least artist renditions look like what you would end up with structure wise lacking a local stone source. Ive only seen that layout in the lower south of US. Where you would expect. If above is true. Just a guess.

I’ve always loved history, particularly ancient history. So I’m always saddened by the number of sites in North America that no longer exist. At least this site was excavated before it ended up being turned into farmland. It’s nice to find out we have some evidence of the people that lived there. The pottery, especially the ‘Headpot’ is beautiful. Thanks for another awesome video!

I drive near this area often and never knew of that site! Thanks for this one!

  13. William Keith on September 2, 2022 at 1:44 pm

There was trade across the Gulf of Mexico between the various cultures. Mound builders did that to avoid seasonal flooding. There are several sites where Mesoamerican trade goods have been found, even feathers from parrots from Maya areas are found in North America. The "bird" symbolism is of the Thunderbird and "snake" is quatzecoatl. There are variations of this symbolism in cultures all over the Americas.

    Chuck,
Just a quick note to say that I have a book titled, Indians of America, 1776, London, England and in it said that there were 4 .Indian Nations along South Georgia’s East Coast and Florida’s East Coast. One was the Miami with the other having relationship to the word Mayan in them. There is a site NW of
Delonega, Georgia, in the Chattahoochee National Forest were remnants of structure terracing and possibly irrigation or drainage system exists on the side of a mountain, rumor has it that it’s a large archeological.site. It is just below the Appalachian Trail. And once a local artifact hunter and others had been going in to site, it has become restricted with the addition of a gate and lock. Your friend who went to the same college as you and had the TV show on the Discovery Channel about forensic geology had a show about it.
    Hope that this helps.

Thank you for your work. It is lost to us today. Much of it has been destroyed. This is a very important site in American archaeology. Very sad about it’s history. I visited it many years ago, during a break from working on an archaeological project nearby. Some of the locals from Wilson took a liking to me and in the evening hours would drive me around and look at many of the nearby prehistoric archaeological sites, including this one. They also showed me the shack nearby where Johnny Cash’s brother died on a table saw and where Johnny Cash grew up. The De Soto site that it is linked with is Pacaha, visited by De Soto in 1541. The moat surrounding the site was linked to a canal which was said to connect with the Mississippi River.

  31. RobChasing on September 2, 2022 at 2:05 pm

Theres a lot of evidence this site was occupied recently. In fact, there is a lot of evidence for the site being the capital of Pacha in the De Soto chronicles.

  32. Amber Paquette on September 2, 2022 at 2:05 pm

Hey Chuck! I’m not sure if you have covered this site yet or not. https://lostworlds.org/ocmulgee_mounds/

I just heard about it from a descendant of Talmuches Hadjo, a Chief who was buried in the Mound. The site holds 17, 000 + years of occupation, as well Clovis material found at the site. Looks like it could make for an interesting video!
