Steamboat Arabia Museum πŸ˜ƒ sunken treasure 😎 Kansas City Museum πŸ‘ Kansas City Missouri what to do

The Arabia steamboat sank in 1856 and was lost forever, or was it? In 1988 they found the lost steamboat and was able to recover all the cargo and wow was there a lot of cargo.

It’s funny how some types of mud preserve wood and other types absolutely destroy it. I think it has to do with the oxygen content or lack thereof. Moisture and muck are never friendly to iron but they can keep wood in an almost pristine state. The oldest dugout canoes ever discovered in the Western Hemisphere were found sunk in the mud of several Florida lakes. The Egyptians should have wrapped their mummies in mud instead of cloth strips! Nice video.

Neat gem of a museum there!! I am amazed by how much was recovered and it what good shape it was in. Was this some type of transport ship? That might account for the volume of items found on the vessel. Very interesting. – Rick

Love places like this. How life was, way back. Sometimes it makes you feel old when you recognise things you or your parents perhaps used! That is pretty extensive. The nearest to that I’ve visited was part of an outdoor museum in Reykjavik, Iceland a couple of years ago. A nice share thanks. Have a great New Year and safely visit lots of places for us during 2021.
