The Tennessee is a large, productive mine, located 1 mile north of the gorgeous Turquoise Lake and just 6 1/2 miles from Leadville. Finding an available claim in or around Leadville is rare and usually very expensive purely for being located in such a historic mining area. Iron, gold and silver ores were found in the tailings. A small stream is located just across the road from the claim.

I lived in Leadville for years. The biggest problem with Leadville and the water was the high amounts of lead in the water, which was a natural occurrence because of the very high amounts of Silver ore in the ground, which is always found in areas with high silver ore.

I discovered this place 4 or 5 weeks ago, and there was a marker with a Gold Rush Expeditions card which stated this claim to be named the DM Placer. I took a pic of it. I watched the video and it sounded like it was a mill to process ore, not a placer claim. I was back there a week ago and the marker that said DM Placer on it was gone. Did you find any gold in the creek?
