The Search For Connecticut's Lost Gold Miner

Welcome to Litchfield, Connecticut. Long ago, someone named Dutchy came here to mine gold. Then one day he disappeared.

I’m sure it was quite creepy in the moment. But those glasses were dirty and have not been cleaned in a while, and the fire pit looked to have about a seasons worth of dead leaves in it.

I went down a rabbit hole watching a bunch of your videos over the weekend. I’ve happily subscribed and the only real critique I have is to maybe invest in some proper audio equipment in the future.

Great content as usual. Commenting for the algorithm

I wonder if the miner read the same article that you did and decided to try it out…

Waiting for the next video , when you do find the cave

What’s the name of the song at the end?

Wow, I didn’t expect this twist.

It seems that in his greed, Dutchy dug too deep and awakened something he shouldn’t have

  12. Phil Forever on August 6, 2022 at 9:03 am

Love your videos! Gotta go searching for gold some time

  13. Sam Markey on August 6, 2022 at 9:05 am

Sorry about the occasional audio/video glitches in this one. My camera broke on me while I was filming and messed things up a bit here and there. Thanks for watching and I hope you like it!

Oh man, this was really neat! I live in that neck of the woods, so I’ve actually read about Dutchy before! Makes me wanna go hiking out in Litchfield more often!

The way those items were all lined up and the modern glasses, it all seemed too fake. The audio being really loud and out of theme was weird too.

I really liked the content otherwise, I’d definitely watch a follow up if you ever made it back there. The cave could be real cool if you find it.

  17. Faye on August 6, 2022 at 9:07 am

You should definitely go back here sometime

  18. Catalyst455931 on August 6, 2022 at 9:09 am

That’s really cool. I’m from the west coast and you hear about people still searching for gold in the mountains, but I’ve never seen anyone’s campsite like this before!

these 4:3 videos made me watch this on my CRT monitor

  20. TheRattle on August 6, 2022 at 9:15 am

Great ending! Also I think I got sympathy poison ivy from watching this

  21. Freddy Fearnley on August 6, 2022 at 9:15 am

This is how the legend of undead Dutchy is born… He can‘t find peace until every last gold nugget of the area is found!

  22. WheresTheSnowAt on August 6, 2022 at 9:23 am

Love the content you make. You’re a great story teller, makes anything interesting.
If you ever make a patron I’d love to support the channel

    He was probably watching you.

  25. iebarnett51 on August 6, 2022 at 9:27 am

man i just discovered this channel over the weekend and am so happy to have subscribed in time for this!

If you ever catch yourself in the Midwest I’d love to help you out with some great local lore. The city of Elgin was incorporated before Chicago and has some great history of abolition, prohibition, architecture, and culture.

That pan looked like one used for pasta instead of gold, but I still love following you on your adventures in the great northeast! I sometimes can’t fathom how you find the documentation you find. It’s so obscure, but so cool.
