I’ve lived in Little Rock(Boring!) and Hot Springs(trashy!). Arkansas is beautiful and that’s why I moved there. If traveling through, the bath house row in Hot Springs is a MUST see! They’ve been renovated and you can tour and see how they looked back in the 20s or 30s(history?). Also, the spring water available thanks to the Parks Department, is amazing!!! People are always filling containers and taking home. I miss that water with all my heart!!! Also, a canoe down the Buffalo River in north Arkansas is amazing! Just check the water levels before you go so you aren’t carrying your canoe at a few points. South Arkansas is just flat Delta and poor folks.

I have been to Hot Springs twice, first time we stayed right on Lake Hamilton. Went down central av. Ate some of the best pizza @ Deluca’s & breakfast @ Phil’s restaurant. Second time spent the night, went to the famous Ohio Club then next day took 7 up to Jasper. Saw the Grand canyon. Stayed in a beautiful cabin on hwy. 327. Then Boxley & saw alot of Elk. It was Christmas 2020, 13 degrees. Cold for this Cajun. But my point is that I love the whole state, I would retire in the Ozarks or around Hot Springs. So this dude talking could kiss my ass! Alot of people from there come down here to go fishing, I have made alot of friends. It is really Beautiful. From south Louisiana in Galliano, love ya’ll

I lived in Little Rock for three and a half years. Not the worst place I’ve ever lived. Crime is bad, but I never had any problems. 100 degrees every day in summer. Winters are mild and dreary. River trail in LR was amazing, though. There are lots of other nice spots for day trips. Our neighborhood in Hillcrest was nice enough. My biggest issue was the work culture. Cost of living is lower than other states, but so are salaries. For what they pay you, expectations are ridiculous. Things are run like plantations: burn you out, replace with another worker. Very few real opportunities, though they will make you think there are initially. The state likes being 49th and 50th in all the good categories, so abandon any hope of real progress happening. Education and the prison system are especially bad. It’s overwhelmingly Trumpy and conservative, so you can’t trust it to ever do the right thing politically. The state has an interesting history. Lots of great musicians came from AR. White Water Tavern in LR is terrific. I actually liked that there was no football in LR. It’s cool to be two hours from Memphis, and New Orleans is about 8 hours away. But if have any ambition, you will likely move out. It will be a hard place to adjust if you’re not from there. Again and again, you will find yourself saying, "That’s so Arkansas!"

  12. Skunk le Pew on September 18, 2022 at 6:36 pm

Born and raised in Ark. – still living here. Spousal abuse is against the law here. Crime is bad due to drugs and poverty. We do have high pollen, high humidity and very hot summers. We have massive mosquitoes – worse around fish farms and rice farming because of the standing water. I say Ar-Kansas for a joke and I’m a native of the state. They LOVE their guns here mainly for hunters. Agreed Fayetteville is the best city – Pine Bluff is the WORST and I live 1/2 hour from there. Shop there and get the hell out of Pine Bluff FAST! Little Rock and Hot Springs are not good places to live but alright to visit.

  13. DeBoa8it on September 18, 2022 at 6:37 pm

You left out alot. Alot! You even left out that it lists second in all the states for the most sex abuse. Tons of medical malpractice. Criminals of all types abound. I found this video when typing in "Arkansas, the most Deplorable state for many reasons". It’s horrible here.

I’m just here to see how many seconds in before he starts complaining. Oh wait it’s 54 seconds. He’s getting faster and faster I’ll give him that. This guy just can’t start out with anything positive to save his life! It’s so predictable. He blows things out of proportion and focuses on the negative. I bet this state is much better than he gives it, and I don’t even need to go there, just seeing the pictures it’s a beautiful place! Also, your education section is misrepresented. The University of Arkansas is one of the better universities out there, according to US News and World Report. They have many degrees available, up to Master’s in many. 😒

  17. phantom spectre on September 18, 2022 at 6:42 pm

Arkansas is my home state…. yeah, it ain’t about shit, not much here and it sucks but don’t get me wrong, Arkansas’ job market came up but slightly. It’s not ALL the way up there and it’s not booming like other job markets in other better states. Arkansas is a state of retirement and it’s really easy to get in trouble, not that much to do here….

Northwest Arkansas is not Arkansas, at all. Two distinct places, Northwest Arkansas is a very metropolitan/suburban, upper class and growing area with a a very deep pocket. Home of three Fortune 500 companies, one being the largest company in the world, Walmart. The third largest poultry company in the world, Tyson Foods. Top five trucking and distribution company in the US, J.B. Hunt. Great place to raise a family with plenty to do and is just big enough to run across any and every type of person. The average home value is over 300K. Looks like the North side of Dallas. The rest and majority of the state as a whole fits the bill of its reputation a 1000%.

Even tho the state has its issues it’s not as bad as you make it also it is not a battle ground and stop trying to stop people from living here it is a great place and really beautiful and this guy is trying to make it seem like if you want to move here your out of your mind

  25. Lola B on September 18, 2022 at 6:53 pm

He is joking! Granted, he hasn’t really spent enough time in the state to say… Left Arkansas in 1987. Came back a few years ago. It is beautiful here, but good-paying jobs are not plentiful in places. I work remotely (no AOL dial-up either, thank you very much), so I don’t suffer with the poverty. The people who are in poverty work several jobs but don’t get paid a decent wage. We also have to pay state taxes. And our roads suck. Crime rate equals our terrible economy. While most states are increasing minimum wages, Arkansas stubbornly sticks to the lowest wages they can get away with. My experience with education here is that there are good and bad schools. This comedy depends on stereotypes, but some of what he says is, sadly, true.

  27. Linda Van Galder on September 18, 2022 at 6:54 pm

I have noticed lately that the purveying attitude among people in this area is "I don’t care." I went to an agency to help me get a job and I am over 55. The woman who was helping me was quite obese. She brought up at least 3 x that eventually my age would be a barrier to finding and keeping a job. I wanted so much to say that if I was an employer I’d rather hire and older slender person who took care of myself than a very obese woman who had a bad attitude or condescending attitude. My sister came to visit, and she said, "What’s up with that guy," referring to a worker at a coffee shop. I told her if you are considering living here then you better get used to it. Yes, Arkansas is beautiful. But it is going downhill fast! I could elaborate over and over again about this, but it is depressing as heck!

  28. Kiel Nunn on September 18, 2022 at 6:54 pm

Most of what he said is right, although some parts of the state are Beautiful, such as the Northwest Region & Hot Springs. I lived there for 20+ years from the Southeast region all the way to NWA; The people there are very Sometime-ish, wishy washy, Bible beltish, Small minded & ego-superficial imo, including relatives, not all though, but more of them are. I would def visit, but would not move back… Those 🦟 s are AWFUL!!!

  29. Hare Bikutoro on September 18, 2022 at 6:58 pm

Full of shit. For a variety of reasons. I hope Briggs was kidding about AR gun law, up until the last couple of years one required a state-issued CHCL to conceal carry. Prior, there was a law about traveling outside of your home county as a resident in the state, but it is indeed a constitutional carry state now. Like every single gun store in the country, NICS background checks are mandatory, and firearm safety is treated extremely seriously. Even with the new CHCL laws, AR licenses are one of the most reciprocated across the country. Briggs only even barely met the truth with his words in this video, it’s a joke. If it’s intentionally so, he has a terrible sense of humor. I could go on about how wrong he is about the weather, crime rate based on cities, or what the Northwest means to the rest of the state, but maybe I would be better suited to making my own video at that point. Total.. HOGwash!

    "Polon is brutal in Arkansas."

Little rant below Im sure no one will read:

Bro I live in Arkansas and I am super allergic to polon. I went to the doctors office and they did that thing where they rub all these different allergies on you (one side is outside and the other is inside) and a few of the inside ones started to rise and became bumps but all of the outside ones were huge! I sneeze lie 4-6 times in a row sitting INSIDE.

I agree with the obesity statement, though I never thought it was out of the ordinary. I guess I’ve never given it a second thought, most of my friends have a gut, and some have diabetes. I have a small gut myself. I guess that isn’t normal?

"Don’t give me your one-offs" Well… It literally snowed in February… I don’t know if thats normal but it isn’t for Arkansas, or at least in the Northeast section.

I agree with the education thing. Where I live most of the way people work are in factories. Most of the people in my family work factory jobs. Almost everyone in my school says the N WORD. They usually don’t do it in front of black people but its still bad. And no not with an a…

I’m pretty sure someone pronouncing Oregon as Orange would make someone correct them. I don’t have any memory of someone getting mad about that lol

"You can practically buy a gun from Walmart, go outside and shoot a squirrel" Bro what are you saying lol
Yes I agree that guns in southern states are a problem because my grandpa literally has a poster with a gun on it that says "we dont dial 911"

In summary, this video gets a 20/100

  34. trippxin_jj on September 18, 2022 at 7:02 pm

This guy is so wrong about the seasons. Early spring is still very cold and sometimes snowy or some hail. In spring it’s called shower, cause it rains at least 4 days out a week in spring. Then hell, which is summer. It can get up to the mid 90’s to early hundreds in Arkansas during summer, then August, which is extra hot for no reason. Early fall which feels like spring in terms of temperature, but all the trees suddenly get alopecia. Then early winter in November cause it gets freezing, and finally THE ARCTIC PERIOD which is December to early March when it’s freezing cold. We have very bipolar weather here 😄

Another "OLD PHRASE" nickname "ARKANSAS" use to have was:
    "LAND OF OPPORTUNITY".
As far as what you said about "SPOUSAL ABUSE":
You should come to "TEXAS" in 2022.
"PINE BLUFF", is and always has been
    "ARKANSAS DOPE CAPITAL",
    and probably always will be,
    (3) "GUNS"? COME TO TEXAS if you want to walk around
"OPEN CARRY", without a "BACKGROUND CHECK", "PERMIT", or "ANYTHING"
(check out what happened in "UVALDE" TX in 2022 gun nuts).

  44. Matthew D. on September 18, 2022 at 7:13 pm

    This video is hilariously stupid.
Primarily your talk on mosquitoes and guns. As to guns, you can’t just waltz in to a gun store and simply walk out with a gun without a Federal background check. That law is universal throughout the entire Nation. You can buy through a private transfer without a background check.. but that’s a private sale..and that’s common throughout most of the country. As to registration, it’s actually a VERY small handful of States that have firearm registries. As to fat people, I lived on the west Coast for over a decade (Seattle) and have spent lots of time in California and Oregon.. as well as in Canada. There is an immense population of obese people in that region. Typically with blue hair and BLM buttons/ T shirts on. Same rings true for NYC. Your video is BS.

Forgot lone star ticks. They will kill your pets. I spend $300.00 every three months because you have to use the expensive stuff. My house is infested with recluse spiders. Everyone has them. Copper heads and rattlers. Lots of snakes. Black snakes are huge and eat any small animals or suffocate them trying to eat them. Often 6 ft long. Chiggers.Ya, guns. They use your pets as target practice. Happened to me. Invest in security system! I live in northern part too.
