1st of all, I find this to be more than 10 stories; more like 50; & why all of the repeat stories? 2nd. Those names: Calcasieu,Manchac, Shreveport, Dauphine, just did it for me. This happens every time. People who try to say words from Louisiana need to come live in Louisiana so they can be to better. Louisiana stories need to only be told by Louisianians. 3rd. But the 1 story that was never mentioned was Myrtle Plantation (about the little black girl who haunts the home), 1 of the most famous of them all. 4th. I’ve heard a different story about the rougarou. Know the facts before trying to tell stories for fame & fortune.

It’s CAL – CA – SHOO. NOT CAL CASIA..

#9 @ 23:21, The La Feu Follet of Louisiana have many extended family members in folklore around the globe. The Will-O’-The Wisp’s (Ignis Fatuus s. or Ignis Fatui pl., is Latin and translated means to Foolish Flame). The Wisp’s and variants have been recorded in the folklore of Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, Appalachia, and Newfoundland. It is called the St. Louis Light in Saskatchewan, the Spooklight in Southwestern Missouri and Northeastern Oklahoma and the Marfa Lights of Texas. German name is Irrlicht (‘wandering light’ or ‘deceiving light)’. In German folklore they are known as mischievous spirits of nature. Folklore has fascinated me since was a little girl.
    This was really cool! ❤

Nowhere is more haunted than the Halls of the Louisiana State Capitol. Ghosts appear to make up "laws",
rules, and regulations that send Chills of Fear through the honest citizens of the entire state.

  19. @creekdweller9662 on February 15, 2024 at 9:49 am

The Pea Farm was exactly that. The prisoners worked in the fields and grew Purple Hull peas. Thus feeding themselves on what they grew, and selling any extra produce, and the money derived from the sale of surplus peas went into the budget of the prison lessening the burden of the taxpayers for the operation of the prison. Today the prison sits on private property, abandoned and no trespassing signage surrounds the perimeter. I know where it is but with the danger of snakes, spiders and poison Ivy, you would have to be stupid to venture onto the grounds.

  27. @namelia4439 on February 15, 2024 at 9:58 am

Gee…I wonder what former plantation Oak Alley’s “dark past” is…I wonder who was tortured there…I wonder whose screams can be heard, and who is haunting the place…I’d haunt it, too, if I’d been a slave there and now had to watch people pay ridiculous amounts of money to get married there bc it’s just so beautiful and historic…

  28. @otpyrcralphpierre1742 on February 15, 2024 at 10:00 am

For those of you who were wondering, the practice of "burying" Above Ground is because of Louisiana’s
high water table. Burial Vaults sit above ground because when you dig the ground more than a foot or so,
the excavation starts filling with water. This does not happen everywhere in the state, but once the practice
started, it was carried on as a Tradition. Also, hurricanes that have flooded the state also made sealed coffins
that were buried float up to the surface and drift around in the flood-waters, frightening survivors and starting
    legends of ghosts.

  38. @mom5catskyle596 on February 15, 2024 at 10:11 am

She said there was a woodland outside New Orleans? Obviously never been here or she would know the city is surrounded by marshes, swamps and bayous – not mere woods! There is a difference!

  39. @rodneylavergne4757 on February 15, 2024 at 10:12 am

Raised in Louisiana it s amazing how some try this type of hype ,And they should try to pronounce the names correctly or don’t do it at all Some of the comments about the plantations are uncalled for and inaccurate. This has been proven several times, to be clear there were a couple of farms that were but NOT ALL she claims.

  40. @lorikraus8087 on February 15, 2024 at 10:13 am

I call BS. I’ve either lived or visited many of that mentioned places. I’m a Louisiana gal who’s lived in various areas in the state. (I’m a tad coonass). Also our family has our own cemetery north of Lake Pontchartrain. Not once have my deceased family members ever reached out to me or any one of us from their graves….and we had a huge family! My dad was one of 17 siblings and both of my grandparents were of Native American descent….and Cajun.I’ll never believe these stories unless it happens to me….and as a Christian, I highly doubt it ever will.
