Kinda weird how your argument for setting war below on place 5 is that it is not available outside of the UK and then you have Danger close on place 2 that is only available… in UK

1917 was pretty decent and so was the 2915 version of gallipoli, but it’s a mini series and not a movie. Dunkirk was ok also.

Dauntless the battle of midway is one of the underrated war movies I have found

  9. Chris X on June 1, 2023 at 10:03 am

0:47 that looks like how Russia is conducting its special operations in Ukraine today, Russia follows tactics that it’s perfected from World War 1 and 2. 😂

Seen four of them, they were merely alright. Bombardment had some true heartbreaking moments but the rest was merely alright.

Defiance (2008) a film with Daniel Craig is an excellent movie, really great story of brothers who form a group of resistance fighters in WWII. Film will leave you in tears at many points throughout.

My 3 favorite war films are Enemy at the Gates, Saving Private Ryan and Fury. If you told me Jude Law would be in my favorite *anything* I would have laughed but right from the start I was hooked on Enemy, and the other two are just incredible films.

  34. Justin Mangus on June 1, 2023 at 10:35 am

yeah high marks for the war below, ive seen it, it was very well done for a lesser known war movie.

What about "all quiet on the western front " its a True gem movie

  40. anelka on June 1, 2023 at 10:47 am

"The Front Line (2011)"……I recommend this movie.
It is a Korean movie. It’s a really well-made movie.
No explanation needed. Watch it right away!!~~

The Bombardment was excellent, but it’s striving to be accurate, not entertaining. Watch it if you want to see the true horrors of war.

  43. Bridgeman on June 1, 2023 at 10:51 am

Sand castle and the forgotten battle are some of my favorites that often get overlooked

  44. MiH on June 1, 2023 at 10:51 am

Definitely: "The Siege of Jadotville", personally a master piece

  45. charles on June 1, 2023 at 10:51 am

Kajaki The True Story. The best British Army film for years and years

  47. Bruce7 on June 1, 2023 at 10:54 am

    ‘The War Below’ was Good

  48. Brendan M on June 1, 2023 at 10:56 am

This isn’t on Netflix but I highly recommend the British film Threads. It’s basically a dramatisation of what would have happened if a third world war broke out from the cold war and led to Russia firing nuclear missiles. It’s not an action packed film but it is very eye opening, harrowing and will teach you to distrust traffic wardens.

  49. Thomas H Jensen on June 1, 2023 at 10:57 am

"This land of mine" is a story of how German POW’s (basically children) were forced to clean up the land mines left along the Atlantic Wall after WWII had ended in Europe. They had neither the equipment or proper training to do so, and so they suffered many casualties. Their suffering was mainly ignored (or even approved of) by the civilian populations having just suffered years of German occupation. Certainly recommended from here.
