This is the story about when gold first was found and removed from the Caballo Mountains in New Mexico. These are stories documented from discussions from key players that existed during the gold frenzy that followed the initial gold treasure find. This was during the Great Depression, so people were very desperate and willing to kill to survive. Jack Renolds’ findings initiated the gold fever that resonates in all stories from Part 2 of Tales of the Caballos.
