Thank you for sharing a beautiful trip out. My family is from Cape Britain Canada. I’ve heard this year the old family house is about to be torn down but the memories will always be there for me. You can check it out still on Google earth. 31 Lower Mitchell Ave., dominion, Nova Scotia, Canada. Your video brought back crazy good old memories… my brother and I were just boys… every two years, mom and dad drove us 1,600 miles to go stay there for 2 weeks with my gramma and grandpa. I would spend the entire time on Dominion Beach. The house is/was on the cliff overlooking the ocean. It’s hard to see it all now with all the other things built up there…
We used to run across the street and climb down the rocks to jump in the ocean, climb cliffs, collect polished pieces of glass on the beach (the little red ones were our treasures when lucky enough to find them). I watched the huge freighters moving across the sea’s horizon while we would fill tin buckets with clam eally in the mornings.
Living on that ocean for two weeks a year and with all the family’s comings and goings is still the highlight of my youth.
Thank you for sharing your new memories and stirring some of the best of my old memories. It was just like being back there… at home with my grandparents…
It’s heart warming to see your family out with you on the trip. I hope one day your children will enjoy recalling memories of times like this. With Dad’s video documentations, it is sure to happen 🙂… Enjoy.

The AT Pro does well submerged in saltwater but I would recommend waterproof headphones. It probably doesn’t do good at the waters edge versus dry sand.
Had a friend (a tape friend) in the ’60s he was at the Air Force Base at either Bangor or near by. He came from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Didn’t know you visit Maine!!! I live in cornish which is not far from Naples. I plan on doing some detecting this spring and our terrain is identical to Vermont’s mountain terrain. Check it out sometime and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. Also I’m from the coast (Hills beach/saco) and grew up running up and down the coast. Awe your family is as beautiful as that sunrise was. As always the still shots are gorgeous! I am in a wheelchair and can’t hike in the forest or beaches. Those 2 things are only thing that always made me feel better. I am very sick and can’t go on adventures anymore, so thank you for sharing with me the things I miss so much!

How come you didn’t open up those clams and get the pearls?
Next time u go to the beach instead of pinpointing gust use ur hand an scrape the sand an u will find it faster
You probably passed thru Raymond on your way to Naples. I lived in Raymond for a few years. Naples is a beautiful area.

Lovely to see you at the beach for a change.
At 5:10 that is a Quahog clam. Sometimes you can find them easily in tide water, in remaining water holes when the tide goes out. We gather them and make clam cakes with them. Mussels can be found in quantities where there are huge rocks that protrude above the high water marks. When I was an early teenager , my cousin and I would gather the quahogs and open them and find small pearls.
