UNREAL Actual GOLD TREASURE FOUND on the Oregon Trail! Metal Detecting

Garrett found his first gold coin ever on the Oregon Trail! I wasn’t there but he managed to get it on camera still. Around this time we also discovered and metal detected an 1850s military campsite along the trail and found lots of buttons and bullets.

All finds were made on private property with the owner’s permission.

Gear Used:
Metal Detector: Minelab Equinox 600
Pinpointer: Garrett Pro-Pointer
Drone: DJI Phantom 3

Could the spiral mark near the tip of the first dropped Minie bullet have been evidence it was removed from a loaded barrel with a tool sometimes referred to as a ‘worm’ due to a misfire from a dud charge?

    Great job, nice assortment!
Have you guys ever thought of using colored flags (landscaping flags)to mark each of your finds?
At the end of the day you can look at the pattern and possibly find missed areas to search and record?
    Good luck!

I just came across your videos and absolutely am hooked! I love to hear a bunch of Christian brothers thanking God instead of swearing and being vulgar. I might just get into this, living in Idaho I’m sure there’s plenty of great finds down our way. Be blessed brothers!

Were these camp spots dating from the Rogue River Wars were State militias and volunteers from Oregon and the surrounding areas gathered in 1853?

You find a lot of good dropped triple Ring Union ammo because they had lots of ammo to throw away the reason it is hard to find a single ring Confederate ammunition is because most of them were taken out of the bodies at the hospital

I just hope you guys got permission to hunt wherever this place is along the Oregon Trail. And I hope you also filled back your holes! Other than that, congrats on your finds! I’d love to hunt on the Oregon Trail. When I would go to get my daughter in Wyoming and bring her to Utah, I’d go past the Oregon Trail near Bear Lake. I’d try to imagine what it was like for these people crossing it. I’d imagine all of these folks traveling where I could see the path that they traveled before me. I’ve always wanted to hunt on it but wasn’t sure if it was on Federal Lands or under private ownership where I could see it.

Yeah, every metal detectorist dream. It doesn’t even matter what denomination, it’s a gold coin. I want one. I mean, I have a few gold coins, I mean I want to find one with my detector.

  36. танк антивирус тв on November 6, 2022 at 8:14 am

подумаешь доллар. у нас в России целую коробку золотых монет нашли .их было 216 штук .а тут одна монетка даже неинтересно смотреть .да и вообще америка очень очень бедная страна.

  37. Bryan Thomson on November 6, 2022 at 8:14 am

Do you ever look at a sight and think, "They probably took the horses to water down this way" and check that carefully? The trees may not have been there, but I bet those horses knocked some things loose off the soldiers. Thanks for the video, great history.

  38. Scott Fortune on November 6, 2022 at 8:15 am

What were the j hooks used for back then on the trail?

  39. Irvin Slagter on November 6, 2022 at 8:15 am

Not trying to be a critic, but why on earth don’t ANY of you have a tooth brush with you???? It surely be can’t too heavy to carry. 😂And those skimpy little squirt bottles, wouldn’t a pint size Windex bottle with a little left in it with the water, work ten times better?? Fill this newbie in , please! By the way, I DID enjoy watching you find that stuff. Don’t it make you wonder what the soldier or cowboys name was, and the circumstances was that day. I’ve only found a couple arrowheads and I still wonder what flintknappers life was like and who he was.

  40. anthony bentley on November 6, 2022 at 8:15 am

In the USA what do you guys do with your finds, keep them, sell them or give them to a museum…please don’t think it is a stupid question as I am a detectorist from the UK and most of our finds goes to the museum we have very stricked detecting laws here.

  41. ROBERT snyder on November 6, 2022 at 8:16 am
