I’ve used the ThermoCell products for years…both the small clip-on devices and the "Backpacker" units you showed on the video. They do, indeed, work well. You do need the larger units for really heavy buggy areas, and they won’t drive every last one away, but they will make an intolerable situation (in terms of mosquitos) tolerable…and I’ve been in some very boggy, swampy areas with lots of mosquitoes.
Bloody dam covid..! It’s scuppered our last 2 years travel plans and that’s with out leaving the UK.
Fingers crossed 2023 plans can happen.

After trying every Thermacell I recommend the USB one
‘rona – my whole family got it in the beginning… sucked quiet abit. 2.5 years later got it again… minor cold at best… but good idea to detour and get in a dry comfortable place to heal up! Our hit us on way BACK from vacation… ended up having a vacation from my vacation via more sick days…
Mountain House is legit good stuff. Chicken n Rice and the Beef Stroganoff is fantastic. Spaghetti didn’t turn out well.
If one drives to Alaska from the south, that means going through Canada. Guns are kind of a no no. I’m not familiar with the specifics of long guns crossing the border, but any hand guns will be forfeited by you at the Canadian border. Best to leave them with someone before entering Canada or just not bringing them at all.

I spent July 4th there in Nabesna last time you were here, they actually had a July 4th parade! I bet the price of fuel had more people out eating along side the road than in a restaurant.

Love your channel. The music is really great and the places you guys go are always out on the edge of everything. I was checking out the Therma cells and they work great but be aware that the residue is deadly to pretty much everything especially Bees. I am using pyrithian coils which are just as toxic so I am switching to citronella coils this week. Hope you feel better…..😎

Sorry that you (all) got covid and it interrupted your trip. We hope it was not to bad.
We love following your Alaska trips you are inspired us so much, and finally this year we did it and we checked out the south west part of Alaska and it was amazing. I haven’t looked at my pictures and videos yet because I’m still have to come totally home from it and we are already 3 weeks back home.

On your recommendation we purchased the thermacell backpacker units and have used them from Florida to Maine to Canada. They work very well and uses very little gas. A large gas bottle will last a long time.
That is the sign of a GREAT momma bear and poppa bear doing the right thing. Get well, stay safe and always take care of your "little one".
If you love electrical issues over time you definitely want to be going fast through the water like that.
