Gold found 2020, mirco gold, flakes. Russle, Huntington, chester. Westfield river, some feeder streams. All Small gold. Lot of digging little return. Lot of bugs. Im new to hunting for it, but it is there. Also mill river ( think its mill river in Chesterfield ma. ) my friend brought me 3 buckets of dirt. Again just small flakes, but it is gold. If you go looking, bring bug spray and a fishing pole ( lot of native trout).

I noticed you didn’t go over the sheldonville mine in south western MA. It’s still currently owned so I suppose it’s a good thing. Sheldonville mine produced free mill gold in quartz. I can say that in Worcester county I have found a few quartz veins running with free mill gold. Running a Mining and exploration company I have plenty of experience locating greenfield areas. As for mining laws in Massachusetts it’s a very complicated area and there isn’t much information on it. There is lode gold in Massachusetts both central, eastern, and western areas. For the hobbyists make sure you are all ways looking at property maps. So you can do the right thing and ask property owners permission to prospect on there land. Have fun and keep finding gold!

There is placer gold in several creeks in central Mass.
Recently I have run across an area that can produce several hundred colors in each pan full.
It takes crazy light panning skill to recover this gold.

The Dracut mine you are referring to is now a open pit mine for aggregate. It is very close to a major river (the Merrimack) that drains from New Hampshire to the northern Massachusetts coastal plain. Awesome video!! Thank you!!!

Just found your channel. I have gold pans and I have been a metal detectorists for about 25 years. Prospecting has suddenly become a big interests of mine. not to strike it rich but you just have fun and find some gold or silver. No matter the amount.. I am in Southeastern Connecticut in Mystic.. I wish I knew where to go. I read an 1890s newspaper where there was a headline years ago that said gold found in Ledyard which is right by. Right next to Foxwoods Casino. I saw it on a Rolodex film about 25 years ago in a public library. Does anybody know if there’s anything in these dreams any Creeks around Connecticut?

I’m in western MA and interested in what might be in the local creeks. I’ve heard plenty of rumors of gold being in the streams in the Berkshires, just to the west of where I am. But people in the comments here are even talking about Bernardston, which is close enough that I could walk there, and the Deerfield river, which runs through my town of Greenfield. Looks like I need to get some prospecting gear and start poking around.

would it be worth trying to pan in the "indian head river"? if you type it in on google it shows the exact intersection i used to live at.

Sourdough, I have a question, I was digging out hard pan on my property beside a hill and I have a small brook to the far right side of the bottom of the hill and found a very unusual rock that I have never seen in my life. The outside of the rock looks like a normal thing, but when I threw the rock unto a pile of other rock’s, the rock broke and I was shocked to find that the inner core of the rock looked like it was heated to a extreme heat source. There was alot of tiny pieces of some type of material shining in the sunlight in the middle of the rock. I still have the whole rock. What could make the inner part of a rock but not the outside look so extremely heated?

Bernardston has great placer gold pickers too. ✨ out in the Florida mass area that calco holds Au too. Over by my house in greater Boston there is a great gold & silver mine in sheldonville i worked the piles for years. Boston by blue hills actually has a few free mill veins they have a large specimen in the museum.
Cape cod has beach gold from the end moraine by Mashpee to woods hole.
All the creeks on the west side of the conn. River have glacial gold.
Vermont is by far the easiest to find gold in rivers by pan even and have found nuggets up to 5 grams in our local hole. New Hampshire and Maine both have up to half oz nuggets but you need a dredge.
Both those states have free mill gold mines

Roger from the YouTube channel Mudfossil University said that rocks aren’t rocks at all but they are flesh from creatures and giants. He may have cracked the code to where the gold really is and how to more easily find it. I live in western Massachusetts and have been prospecting for gold for 7 years. I live in western Massachusetts.

From my research the most gold ever pulled out of Massachusetts was from the Becket/Otis area, which was from the rivers to my knowledge, placer would it be?
